I visited Coalescene and had such a great experience! The space is big, clean, and bright with a modern industrial feel - fun vibes with people working on laptops or chatting. The barista, Tony, was super helpful in recommending the perfect coffee for us, and we even picked up some beans to enjoy at home. Because of the large purchase, they treated us to a free drip coffee, which was such a nice touch!

I love how inclusive the environment is. They even have a cozy corner with toys, Montessori play sets, and children’s books, which makes it family-friendly too. Street parking is available nearby. Overall, an amazing place - I’ll definitely be coming back!

There’s also a venue-like space at the back of the coffee shop. and I noticed people working in office-style areas with their laptops. It’s such a versatile spot - whether you’re looking for a place to work, grab a coffee, or catch up with friends, Coalescene has it all.

We had a private event at this location. The staff member who was there with us was phenomenal. She was friendly, helpful, and professional. I will come back during regular working hours. I recommend.

Hands down my favorite coffee shop in Hampton Roads! The staff’s knowledge about coffee is bar none. They carry a huge selection of the highest quality coffee around. Love the vibe and everyone is always helpful.

Very disappointing. The matcha was very watered down , asked for a shot of chocolate in it and barely tasted anything. Husband ordered the ube special. Paid almost $20 for two coffees and his was the size meant for a child. The building is huge , enough to hold large crowds, but felt cold in asthetic atmosphere. The best thing about my whole experience was the pleasant attitude of the guy working the counter. I threw my coffee in the trash.

Heads up: They don't take cash.

Nothing bad to speak of here. A cafe that makes good coffee, is clean/tidy, and has very polite customer service. Latte art at this cafe is top notch.

Parking is not great, but that is not unusual for Norfolk. Ample seating, open concept with the bar in the middle. Food is not their forte, but this is a cafe, not a five star restaurant.

7/5/25 great coffee but even better vibes from the weekend crew. New favorite spot when I’m in town. Bring card, no cash

Ordered the ube pandan matcha, but it tasted like straight milk with a sprinkle for syrup. Told myself it’s fine, it’s hard to capture the ube/pandan flavor if you don’t have the right ingredients. Then I ordered an oat latte, but it tasted like 80% milk. Tragic. Spent almost $20 here for two poorly made drinks. Staff weren’t even friendly. No redeeming qualities for this one!

This coffee shop is like what ai thinks millennials want. Close, but not quite there. Seating was a little awkward and not enough wall outlets to do work. Decent coffee which is a minimum.
