Had my friend’s bridal shower here in September 2024, and everything was wonderful! The owner, Shayna, was so incredibly helpful. She was super communicative and flexible. She worked with me to put together a delicious menu in my budget, made super cute on-theme menus, and generously set up the shower area with lovely fall decorations that the restaurant had on hand. Staff was super helpful and friendly as well and helped us get the set up just right and answered our guests’ menu questions. The space was lovely and offered some privacy for our event without being cut off from the restaurant. Food, cocktails, and coffee beverages were delicious. Guests especially enjoyed the frittatas and pickle board with pimento cheese. Additionally, guests were able to find convenient parking in the lot across from the restaurant and on the nearby streets. Everyone had a great time, especially and most importantly, the bride-to-be! Definitely recommend Commune Norfolk for people’s events! ?

With the artwork on display, the open floor plan and overall vibe of the restaurant I was already comfortable when I walked in. The host/server sat us at a table and I noticed that the natural lighting was highlighting all the best parts of the location. The server was welcoming and her recommendations were on point! Try the beet ketchup with your fries I promise you you won’t be disappointed. We both got the ham and peach melt and immediately noticed the peaches were fresh and not from the can. The drinks tasted delicious. Hats off to the cooks and bartender as well. I’ll be back again!

We stumbled upon this place because I was searching for a shellfish-free eatery, an impossible task in a coastal town! As soon as we walked in we were impressed with the decor - it's got a very warm, homey, industrial feel. There's a few toys to keep kids entertained, A reading nook with plenty of eclectic art and free wifi! There's a plant on almost every available surface, this place almost doubles as a botanical garden!
The service ? Impeccable. Our server was cheerful, bright , and patient with me as I hemmed and hawed Over the menu.
This place is a must for a Sunday afternoon brunch !

The decor could use a little work, I honestly don’t like the look of the restaurant’s interior and the chairs are quite uncomfortable. Some tables are wobbly, but the decor in the corner (kids things) are a win!
The service has always been great at this location, much better than in Virginia Beach! This also goes for the food, which I provided photos of. I go out of my way to make sure I visit only the Norfolk location because of how great they are every time!
