Very nostalgic visit on their next to last day. Stood in line for 30 mins with a bunch of other fans. Even the owner was working up a sweat. Hot dogs were good. Very grateful for the many years of GREAT food!

When I heard that the Dog-N-Burger was closing after 50 years of business to make way for a new restaurant, I just knew I had to write a review. As a resident of Ghent, I regarded it as my civic duty. The Dog-n-Burger was first established in 1969 with its original owner being a former Navy submarine chef. The sky was overcast and grey as I traveled down Interstate 464 towards downtown. I felt like I was on my way to a funeral for a friend. The word was out. Dog-n-Burger, the Norfolk institution, was closing down. Upon arriving I had to drive by as all the parking nearby was full and there was a line wrapped around the building.
