Very disappointed in Doumar’s today - the fries tasted like they were a day old including the temperature - the BBQ was extremely dry- the coleslaw was horribly dry. Not a thing was good about this visit except the server was excellent. I was there around 4:30 ish today (Thurs).
Does the food provided at this time of day not get freshly made food???? Ugh…

It’s actually sad to say that I even came here to be serviced. The African American Lady was the only one who handled my family’s food with care. The manager with the orange hat lent a listening ear. My sister and I pulled up to be serviced and I seen that the three servers were busy. After the three servers were done with those orders two more cars pulled up. In my head I’m thinking okay we’re going to get serviced next. The heavier set lady asks from afar if we’ve been helped. We tell her no while shaking our heads. The heavier set lady with the purple hair instructed the girl with the blonde hair to go to the two cars that pulled up besides us. At this moment me and my sister are frustrated so she goes in to order and explain that communication would have helped in this situation. Proceeds to order and comes back to the car. While my sister was ordering the heavy set lady proceeds to direct the other two servers around our car while giving me sly looks. Never once did she come back to see if we need help. Once my sister comes out she is still upset while seeing other people getting serviced. While waiting on the food the girl with the blonde hair and the heavier set woman decided to antagonize us with eye rolling and aggressive look backs into the car. After that we were highly upset and my sister went into the store to let the manager on duty know of how uncomfortable we were throughout the whole experience. Again communication could have went a long way and the dirty looks, we could have did without. I’ll never come back and I wouldn’t recommend African Americans to eat here. You definitely get a racist vibe. Sickening honestly.

Always an amazing diner experience. Wife and I love the nostalgia. My wife's parents had went on their first date here @ Doumars. The hot dogs and burgers are yummy. We got the limited time Pumpkin Shake. The staff are very courteous.

A truly iconic place in norfolk that is a must see that I've been going to since I was a toddler with my dad always a great experience

Great no frills burger place. Very affordable and menu was easy to navigate. I also loved the history of the place. Norfolk has literally grown up around this business, it’s like peering into the past when you go there.

Over all an okay place. Food is a great price but was pre-made patties and freezer burned fries.

Service was rude, not coming back.

Always a good time! Ice cream was yummy.

I took my 3 grandchildren, great food and ice cream selections. Service was fast, and every table filled.
