I have lived in Ghent for a few years and finally made it over to the market. I came in for fish for fish tacos. Ended up with fish, jumbo shrimp and couldn’t pass up on the huge scallops. Wow, everything was delicious. The scallops were already washed and dried and wrapped again with fresh paper towels. They were incredible.I will be coming here on a weekly basis to get my fish. Nothing can compare to the quality, freshness and customer service. Worth the price for quality.

I walked into John's shop today and he sold me this crab cake. I went right home and cooked it like he told me to, and I think it was the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. Light and fluffy, perfectly seasoned, so sweet and tender, this is possibly the best meal I've ever had. If you stop by here you must try John's crab cakes!

Best fresh seafood in Norfolk! John is excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable. The seafood is fresh, with good seasonal selections and John will order you pretty much anything, and cut it to specifications.

Would like USA-made farmed fish roe/fish eggs for sushi, alongside sea urchin, lionfish (invasive species), Asian Carp (also invasive - I love to eat fish though) and locally caught fresh fish for sushi and sashimi. And your salmon sashimi is great. OK service, but ambiance is small and dark/tiny and store's interior and exterior looks boring. Would love Ghent Seafood (you) to team up with Amtrak to create adult's bento lunches (with sashimi/authentic Japanese sushi that's basically fish and rice - not Americanised bootleg sushi) for adult passengers on the train. Could be kept frozen until ready to sell.

Excellent quality seafood and good selection. I got there right at closing but the owner stayed open and helped me get exactly what I needed. I bought a dozen oysters and he showed me how to shuck one. I bought salmon and told him we were using it for a poké bowl and he recommended he remove the skin and asked if I wanted to save it to add later as crispy skin. He went above and beyond all of my expectations. I will be back soon!
