Our experience at Glass Light fell short of expectations, especially given the restaurant's reputation and pricing. Before arriving, there was confusion with the menu. I initially found Glass Light through a site listing Restaurant Week information, and we reviewed the menu on the restaurant's website when making our reservation. Once seated, we were told the menu was outdated and still reflected the summer offerings, which created expectations that weren't met. The food was inconsistent. Canned beer priced over $5 felt high, and my husband's $22 burger was underwhelming, with a soggy bun and limp fries that didn't justify the price. My salad was enjoyable, but my main course—the chicken thigh dish—was disappointing. It consisted of two small pieces of thigh meat served over what looked and tasted like chopped SpaghettiOs, which wasn't what I expected. The chicken was moist, but not crispy as anticipated. Dessert didn't improve the experience. The crème caramel was questionable in both texture and flavor. For a restaurant positioned as upscale, the execution didn't align with the pricing. While this isn't a place we'd choose to return to, I do want to note that our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive, which we appreciated.
This is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant, but the food was disappointing.
The service for both food and drinks should have been faster. I ordered the surf and turf and only took one bite of the shrimp because of the peculiar taste.
I would come possibly come back again but temper your expectations.
The wait staff was very friendly, not sure the timing of food and beverage delivery was all on them.

We had the best time! From the moment we walked in we felt sophistication in the air. Our server Brea was an absolute delight! She was present and attentive and kept a smile on our faces the entire night. The icing on the cake was having Chef stop by our table to ask how everything was! It literally made our night! We will definitely be back to our new favorite spot!
Food was creative, well presented, and tasted perfect. Poor dining experience because server John was taking his bad day out on us. He was insulting. Took my husband out for seafood and was offended by John’s remarks.

If your like high quality handmade food you need to go here!
The dishes are complex, not too heavy and not too light, they’re a perfect balance.
We had the fried octopus, salmon crudo, ribs, rock fish, salted caramel, chocolate cake, and a mocktail.
The staff and very friendly and they list the chef and sous chef listed on the menu.
Dress up and enjoy a lovely date here!

Went for the NYE fixed menu. Beautiful location, room is quite loud, food was all very delicious and creative but not super out there. Our server was excellent, and all of the staff we interacted with with were very pleasant and attentive. There was some trouble making vegetarian substitutions. I had emailed in advance and gotten confirmation ahead that they could as well as noted it in our reservation so we didn't just show up and surprise them, but if you have some dietary restrictions I guess you probably already have to consider things like that.
It's been a number of years since we last visited Glass Light. We found out the French gentleman who initially opened this restaurant has moved on and opened another restaurant in town. We found out too late that the menu for our evening, Dec., 29th was limited so unfortunately, choices were limited. Our server, Christy was fun, attentive and full of personality. We thoroughly enjoyed her. At breakfast the next morning, we had Isaiah and he too was extremely nice and professional, very attentive. Enjoyed him thoroughly too!
The restaurant is beautiful and the food is exceptional. It is expensive but the quality and skill of the chef more than warrants the cost. I ordered their scallop dish and am pretty sure the beurre blanc sauce was made of wishes and dreams. Both the scallops and the pork belly were cooked perfectly; the texture of each was exactly what it needed to be for the dish. They serve both cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, which made celebrating so much more balanced for everyone in our party. I do wish they had a full order of bread available for tables (we had to request bread at an additional charge and were given four slices, even though we had a party of six).
So I realize this rating is will be at odds with others posted on Google Reviews but this was a very disappointing Christmas Eve dinner. We love the property--hotel, bar and gallery. And each time we stopped for a cocktail at the bar, we told ourselves we really need to try the restaurant. Perhaps we should not have made a reservation on a special night like Christmas Eve.
After moving here from (cuisine centric) New Orleans in 2021 we've had 3 terrible dinners on Christmas Eve (Leone's, Byrd and Baldwin and now at Glass Light). I admit we had higher hopes for the evening.
We were early for our reservation and were seated right away. Our server was collegial and promptly took our cocktail orders. She returned 3 times asking if we were ready for our meal order. Maybe she knew something we didn't know. We had the cocktail, ordered a bottle of wine and finally ordered. It was a special menu and we had a good view of the kitchen.
Nearly 50 minutes later our appetizers came. That's nearly an hour. The soup was flavorful. And cold. When the server asked how things were, I was honest with her. (They took the soup off the bill although I didn't ask the to do so.) The entrees arrived nearly 45 minutes later. Both were mediocre. The chicken lacked flavor and the prime rib, although tender, was a meager cut. For the price the dishes should have been spectacular. We cancelled desserts because we didn't want to wait again for food. We had long ago finished our wine.
I wasn't sure who the front of the house manager was, perhaps a young well dressed African
American male who seemed to wander the floor. I never once saw him stop at a table to check on diners. Not once. It seemed he was a little distracted by his mobile phone to be bothered.
The restaurant wasn't packed and everyone else seemed to be waiting on food as well. I could tell the server was embarrassed as she stayed completely away during the last hour.
Chances are we won't be back.

My husband and I had a date night dinner here before going to a magic show. At first I was very annoyed that the menu in restaurant did not match the menu online. I was excited to have duck and purposely searched for restaurants that had it on their menu, which is how we ended up here. The server let us know to not trust the menu online because it was their summer menu and they were now in winter.
I really wanted to leave but I can admit, I’m glad we stayed. Everything we had was amazing. I was caught off guard because normally when I have a craving, I have to have it to feel satisfied but not this time. We had the octopus appetizer, the burger, and scallops. Each bite was so tasty and cooked perfectly. Even dessert was better than I expected.
To be clear, I do think management needs to do a better job keeping up with the menu online, but I can admit that this was one of the better dinners I’ve had in a while.

Disappointed! Was excited to eat at Glass Light Restaurant and was very disappointed. Food was okay but took 40 minutes to get 1st course & another 45 minutes to get the entrees (only two of us). Cancelled our dessert order & we were still was there 2 hours. Obviously there are kitchen issues & our waitress avoided even stopping by our table. First and last time eating at this restaurant.

Outstanding meals! Everyone in our group very pleased with their choices from Christmas Eve menu.
This was an outstanding dinner in all respects. The food was excellent. We had rockfish and it was very tasty. Our waitress was very nice and always attentive. The head chef even came out and talked to us. He was gracious and obviously very talented. Will be coming back soon.
We opted for sharing 3 small plates between the two of us, with a cheese plate for dessert. Everything was to our tastes, and the eine we got to go with it was stellar!
