Golden Gate Restaurant

This place takes me to my childhood back in the day when I lived in Lambert's Point and there was this place called the Rice Bowl on the corner of 39th and Boydens Ferry rd. accross the street from the corner market. This is where I fell in love with fried rice, small smoke, chop suey and of course yak, Norfolk style. So if you're feeling a little nostalgic for old style neighborhood Chinese takeout you should go there.

Give them a chance , the pictures on here will mislead you but if you actually try the food then you’ll realize it’s really good 🤞🏾

Solid but expensive. A great treat. Beef and broccoli is super tasty. I do theamilt meal three choice.

I love this restaurant. I go at least twice a week. They have the best combination sandwiches and house fried rice. Highly recommended.

I personally judge based off the pepper steak and lunch specials.. this pepper steak is some of the best I’ve ever had no kizzy. I’m over here lapping like a dog it’s so good. I like how she was confident when we asked for her recommendations.. She stood on business and I see why. It’s really the peach tea for me lol. 😝 I planned on saving food for later but you know how that go… first we hesitated pulling up because of the surrounding buildings but you really can’t judge, because they’re very clean inside! She was extra friendly also, but even if she wasn’t I’d still be back because it’s good Chinese that’s all that matters.

I stopped by and get 6 egg rolls, large house fried rice, and large beef and broccoli. It was 60 dollars. The food was really good for the location. The amount they give you was big for the mains. Probably would order the smaller size going forward. The beef and broccoli has a great sauce. The egg roll are 3 bucks each but they are tasty.

Ordered Shrimp and Broccoli with White Rice! Got home, had greasy Dark Brown Rice, over CookedTiny Shrimp and over Cooked Broccoli Swimming in Brown Greasy Gravey!!! Disgusting ? ?!!! Didn't feel like going back, just Threw it Garbage ?!!!
Wasted my Money ?!!!
Will Never go there again!!! O, also purchased Chicken Wings!!! They went to Garbage!!! NASTY!!!! EAT at your own RISK!!!

The place with clean and the cashier was nice. We ordered shrimp fried rice... we were so intrigued to try their food after hearing so many good reviews. The rice was dry, and the only flavor was a burnt one from over frying the rice.

Bomb!!!! Clean restaurant nice staff over all excellent experience. The only thing I can say bad is I should’ve gotten extra side of gravy for the liver and onions so good and fresh!!

Very good place my son loves the chicken wings the rice was flavorful and diffrent imfrom jersey the Chinese resturanta don't make rice like this ?

Little expensive but it was not bad. They charge .75 also to use your card.
