I just purchased the liver and gravy. Who granny is cooking this? The liver is tough ,salty and dry with gravy just poured over the liver this meal is not tasty at all.

The cashier was nice , but the cook had a horrible attitude when I told them I didn’t like the Mac & cheese it was box with no favor & the potato salad was watery. I wouldn’t go back sorry!

Searched for black owned businesses near my job last month, and found this place. First time visit today, for lunch. Got the Salisbury dinner with mac and yams. Came with rice and gravy, and cornbread. The ladies behind the counter were kind and courteous, clearly working hard. My order was ready in less than five minutes. The plate probably weighed a couple pounds. The Salisbury steak was THICCCC, very generous portion which I appreciated for the price. The gravy was perfectly thick and seasoned well. The cornbread is delicious.
Small notes: the Salisbury steak was slightly dry, but well cooked, and the gravy compensated for the moisture and added some more flavor. The mac and cheese was lacking a bit of flavor, but just add a lil bit of that brown gravy to it and thank me later. Yams aren't something I usually order, so I don't want to offer an uninformed assessment. The consistency was nice, good chunks of yam vs a mash, and the flavor is sweet with a hint of cinnamon. I enjoyed them.
Overall I really enjoyed this meal despite the food coma I am now in, and I will definitely be back again!

Man I wanted to like this food so much. The ladies were so friendly and helpful and the food was hot and made to order. The catfish was seasoned really well. The Mac and Cheese was not good at all. It had clumps of cheese with no flavor. The yams were hard and sugary but not good. The Boneless Breast sandwich and fries had no flavor. How do fries have no flavor? The strawberry and lemon cake was old and awful. I also had to try 5 times for the credit card machine to finally work. It kept failing until they rebooted it. All in all, I won’t be going back. One and done!!

When I called and told them that the food gave me food poisoning and that I was going to the hospital on the phone someone yelled that they didn’t care and to go to the hospital. I really wasn’t expecting this and I only went because it was a blackout everywhere. Be careful eating here

Just tried the turkey chops Mac and cabbage and it was all gross! The gravy was watery the Mac and cheese was runny and my noodles were overly soft! I’m not sure if it was a bad day but it’s a hard NO for me!
Yo the food is really good, it really reminded me of eating at my grandmother’s spot. There are two restaurants beside this place, one of the has been accused of being racist against African Americans, while the other one sells basic tasting and not the best Chinese ( Yum Yums has far better Chinese in Colley) food. I highly recommend spending your dollars and showing your support by enjoying the great food they offer and make your soul smile. Peace and blessings.

I just moved to Norfolk and was out running some errands, saw a nice lil local spot and decided to give it a try. I ordered the turkey chops with rice, cabbage, and corn fritters. I swear, my plate weighed something like two pounds! Just look at it! The nice woman at the counter asked if I wanted my turkey smothered with onions and gravy; it definitely made it next level. The only gripe I have is that there was no dine-in area. Food like this deserves to be eaten at its freshest, and it was a solid 10/10.I will most definitely be returning, to try the rest of the menu!
