I read a few reviews on Jessy's Taqueria in some social media sites, so this place has always been on my radar. First off let me state that the service was excellent, everyone we interacted with treated us like valued customers, and I really appreciate their professionalism! I got lunch with my brother, and we ate on the outdoor patio. I had three tacos (carnitas, carne asada and birria) with a side of black beans and he had chicken flautas and a side of guacamole. The corn tortillas on my tacos were excellent, the meat/filling, was just ok, good but not a “wow this is awesome” moment. The guacamole was outstanding, the black beans were somewhat bland but ok. My brother liked the flautas.

My brother and I grew up in Arizona and Southern CA, so we know and love good Mexican food. This was good Mexican food, just not great. I would definitely eat here again as we’re in somewhat of a Mexican food desert in Hampton Roads, well at least for great Mexican food, and Jessy's Taqueria is above average. I’ll try another Jessy's location next time, but I would recommend the location on Ocean View for sure.

Food was great, music was loud, and when the servers tried to check up they had to raise their voice. I've been coming here for about 17 years was a hidden gem. Since then they have upgraded once having to take reservations, it was lovely, like for a family gathering then. Now they have upgraded again with an open concept, the decorations are beautiful. The TV screens are down, sorry guys. But has a touch more romance involved, would definitely bring a date, just eat outside so we can talk.

I had a great experience here. The inside is updated and very cute! I was obsessed with the casabarrio - fabulous! I also enjoyed the mangonada with the fresh mango and spicy candy. Definitely going back.

We ordered DoorDash and it was terribleeee, extremely dry tacos, no flavor, cold, it seemed to be old, even the rice and bean were tasting bad, I don’t recommend this place at all $50 for bad food it’s terrible!

It was almost closing time when I arrived with my daughter. They welcomed us with a smile, served us drinks while we waited for our order to go. Drinks were great and food even better. Great staff, friendly.

Ok, so everything I have tried here is SO delicious! The ceviche, birria tacos (with their consumé is to die for!), mangonada, steak quesadilla, tortilla soup, elote, horchata, watermelon and cantaloupe drinks. EVERYTHING IS SO DELICIOUS 🤤 If I could afford to eat there every day, I would 😂. So, if you like Mexican food (Oaxacan) you would be seriously missing out if you skip this place. They have everything I try to find at Mexican restaurants (tamales, elote, tortilla soup, ceviche and the fruit with tajin and chamoy). They also have vegetarian and vegan protein options!

Low key place you wouldn't expect such good food from. Service was excellent - had 3 people check on me at various times while I was seated. Spicy margarita was delicious, but salsa with the chips could use a little more kick. Food looked nothing like the online photo, but it was still delicious. The salsa verde served with dinner was amazing. All menu prices are 20% more than what is shown online - so the website needs some updating. I can see why Guy Fieri liked it!

They need better employees they make people of other color feel very uncomfortable I am an African American woman and my kids is half Hispanic and they made us feel very unwelcome

Ordered takeout, 12 tamales, $32. Pick up was 20 minutes. Got there at the pickup time and waited for additional 50 min in the entrance way to get my food. The restaurant wasn't busy. 2nd time this has happened. People sat down, dined in, and left during the time I waited.
