Will will think you are in another country once you enter these fly double doors. You have left Norfolk for your entire stay. The table settings are elaborate with white linen table covering. Waiter and waitresses in black and white. European wall decor. The other side of restaurant has a bar and more area. On one occasion that I've been there, my love reserved a private room for two, that is also available. A nice wine selection as well. And please whatever you try for your main entree you must try the tomato salad. And most of all the service is amazing. It's a great experience.

Exceptional birthday dinner! The food was amazing and the service was above and beyond what was expected. I highly recommend this outstanding intimate restaurant. Perfect for special occasions. Warm welcoming non pretentious atmosphere. We’ve dined here multiple times and has been great every time.

When you’re pregnant and craving vepřo knedlo zelo, don’t hesitate to have a meal at the monastery restaurant. :) We dined with my Czech in-laws for an evening and all of us were very satisfied. We enjoyed the meal and great conversation with the Jeřabkovi family. Thank you for continuing to bring the taste of European cuisine to our area.

My mother and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience at the Monastery. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgable, taking the time to answer our questions about the dishes and tell us about the restaurant's history itself. We shared the raclette appetizer, it was great. I had the hungarian pork cutlet and my mother had a veal dish. Both were delicious. We will be back to try the escargot and goulash!

Visited today and found the place closed with a sign on the door about being on vacation. No mention of this online

Your food looked amazing and we were so looking forward to trying it. We took a long detour just to come by, but found you closed without notice. It’s disappointing that something as simple as updating Google couldn’t be done. First impressions matter.
Our favorite restaurant in the area. Loved everything on their menu and the food reminded me of my travels in Central Europe. The owners are very lovely, I believe from the Czech Republic. I always get goulash and escargot. But I have gotten their schnitzel.

This was also an interesting place
Exceptional Eastern European food. Tastes very similar to how my mother cooked. Personalized service. Monastery has never disappointed! We eat there every time we visit Norfolk. We do not live in VA. I highly recommend the cabbage rolls. Enjoy!
