Use to go to this restaurant at their old location and really enjoyed it. I have been to this location a few times, most recently for my birthday and I was very disappointed in the food and service. We ordered salads for the table, which appeared to have been made days prior and had soggy lettuce. No one at the table even finished eating the salads which were inedible. We waited over an hour for our main course after ordering during a time when the restaurant was not busy. I ordered a pasta that had shredded pork in it and the meat consisted of mostly fat which was also inedible. What I also find disappointing about the new restaurant location is how run down it looks from the street. It has become an eyesore in the neighborhood, broken sign, weeds growing out of the pavement, faded awning, etc. When I did take guests there for my birthday no one could believe that it was a French restaurant on the expensive side. I think it would go a long way if they kept up the exterior to draw in new customers.

Whole fam went out for the first time in several months as part of our Family Dinner Night ?! This month's new cuisine? French food @ Nouvelle Restaurant! The kids LOVED IT! ?? So delicious and wonderful plating! Pomme Frittes, FO soup, Nouvelle Salad with in-season strawberries, beef/lamb burgers, she-crab gnocchi, and grilled octopus done to PERFECTION! Basil and Lemon crème Brule for dessert! Oh my my my!???Simple great time!Cozy and welcoming setting with very personable staff. Perfect for a date night of great French Food without the pretense. Perfect for a family even with young kids willing to explore new foods and flavors! A great place right on Colley Ave!This was our first time and it certainly will not be our last!??

My wife and I were actually lost when we found this place. Riding in circles trying to find the hospital. Glad we did. The food was delicious and the drinks were good. Definitely another hidden ? gem in the city.

About a 2 - 2.5: Nouvelle Restaurant is a family-owned, French-inspired/New American restaurant that offers an updated menu every so often - make sure you check their social media to see the latest small plates & starters and main courses. The hubs and I came here for a little date night on a weekend getaway, and we made reservations in advance; there didn't seem to be a need, as while they were conscientious in spacing the tables out, there were still available seatings. We had the Nouvelle Salad (with organic mesclun greens, seasonal fruits and berries, onion, radish, sugared pecans, and chevre cheese, all dressed in the house-made cherry vinaigrette; this salad was really delicious and I should have had ordered a separate one for myself; the amount of dressing was perfect, as it wasn't too less or more); the Fresh Burrata Cheese (with apple gastrique, seasonal fruits and berries, wildflower honey, garden herbs, and crostini with fresh cracked peppercorn; the burrata was cold, smooth, and tasty, and I liked the honey and the apple combo; the crostini could be a bit more crispy); the OBX Scallops and Shrimp (with butter seared local scallops and gulf shrimp, sautéed asparagus, and roasted local tomatoes on top of couscous with a lemon-butter double cream sauce; the shrimp was slightly undercooked, and the scallops were a little overcooked but had a nice sear to them; wasn't a fan of the tomatoes and the couscous as they were both very bland); and, the 48-hour Sous Vide Short Rib (boneless grass-fed certified Angus short rib with parsnip puree, pan-roasted carrots, and a red wine demi-glace; this dish was inedible - the sous vide machine seemed to have been incorrectly used or it may have not been functioning well as the short rib was super rare and super tough; there were also chunks of fat throughout that could not be chewed through; the short rib was also not seasoned, and the puree and the demi-glace did not help). We were thinking that maybe we should have gone for their Signature Meatloaf! Our server was welcoming and friendly, and the bartender was a cocktail master, no doubt! We had a variety of mocktails, and each one was super delicious and refreshing - super talented! The place is super casual, and there is no dress-code; all very relaxed vibes so it seems like a good spot for dates or a small get-together. I'm glad I tried this restaurant out, but not sure if I'd return. Plenty of free parking in their small lot. +Nouvelle Salad +friendly staff +great bartender - super talented! +avoid the sous vide entrees! +free parking in private lot

While out enjoying this beautiful late winter weather, we were walking down Colley Avenue and looking for somewhere to grab a bite and a drink. The soulful music drew us in. The hostess, Brigette, was very friendly and personable let us pick a table to be seated at. She recommended a bottle of wine, that I never would have tried otherwise, and decided to give it a go. The wine was delicious and paired perfectly with our meal. I love a place that does small plates, and Nouvell

Lovely place! Ms. Rina and the rest of the amazing staff (sorry I didn’t catch your names!) were absolutely amazing. The food was great and we enjoyed the welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Will definitely visit again when in the area ?

I’ve gotten takeout from them maybe 3 times during the pandemic and each time, the food was delicious! Their 50/50 burger is one of the best in Norfolk. Every time I’ve gone to pick up my order, the staff and owners have been extremely friendly and welcoming. Will contribute to go here for food.

To start, we opted for the chicken arroz caldo (similar to congee but with more flavor IMO) and shrimp okoy fritter. Both were delicious - the fritter wasn't too greasy, and I loved the accompanying coconut vinegar with garlic and hot peppers - they added an understated heat to the fritter. recommend

High quality food, assembled into thoughtful and creative dishes!! ABSOLUTELY MOUTHWATERING AND WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Everything made from scratch and locally sourced. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and shared them all. The French onion soup was the BEST we have ever had. The Calamari was on point - so tender and melt-in-your-mouth but also crispy on the outside. Burrata and Figs was incredible (YOU HAVE TO GET THIS ONE). The roasted beet salad was also delicious (the goat cheese in particular). The Filipino style ceviche was super fresh (the ginger flavor comes through strong, so be aware of that) and delicious! The root vegetable soup was so smooth and the flavor of the beets was surprisingly good. I requested a side of goat cheese with the soup which added the perfect touch to my tastes. We finished our dinner with the bread pudding which was ridiculously good. This family run restaurant is a MUST!!!
