I cannot recommend this place enough, the food was delicious. The outdoor seating was comfortable and the service was outstanding. The only thing that I can tell you is that this is not handicap friendly. The ramp to get into the building is nice, but the ramp from the street up to the sidewalk is cobblestone. The ladies bathroom, while it has a ramp to go into, it. Has a step into the commode. Which is not accessible for handicapped people. But otherwise I give this place a 10 out of 10
We had the Wagyu burger, hummus, dates, crab cakes, and bread pudding. Pretty good overall.
Service was great, loved the location, the friendliest staff and amazing food! I had the Moroccan Chicken Tangine, and it was a big hit!
When in downtown Norfolk this is a fantastic restaurant to eat at. The food is excellent and the cocktails. The chocolate mousse is the best. We enjoy the atmosphere as it’s very relaxing and welcoming. We have met Omar and his wife several times- lovely people. Consistently a superior dining experience.
Went here for brunch and had an amazing time.
Great date night eatery. Omar's has a wonderful atmosphere and so many delicious food choices on their menu. The food is well prepared and Beautifully presented. We had the rock fish and lamb, and enjoyed them both. This was our second time visiting and it was a pleasure meeting Omar!
Absolutely the worst restaurant experience in my 50 years of living. My coworkers and I were hurried out because it was restaurant week. We were not asked if we wanted any desert and the Crab cakes were horrible . It tasted like potato balls with a little crab added and it was bland ,so I didn't finish my plate. This was a designated place for our holiday dinner for 2024, and my colleague ordered duck, salmon, and another order of crab cakes. The waitress came to our table to explain that our reservation is 6:30pm urging us to make decisions on what we wanted. One of the coworkers ran late so she arrived at 6:45pm, she had a few minutes to look over the menu to decide so, that was 6:55pm. The younger worker in the restaurant came and placed a bottle of water on our table to self serve while we waited and then someone else brought our food to our table and after one was done eating, the manager came and took our plates in a hurry. It was not a great experience in a uniquely design building.
I was disappointed 🥺
My friend and I enjoyed our dinner at Omar's Carriage House for Norfolk Restaurant Week. The food was terrific and the menu had a good variety. It is a quaint place and eating in Norfolk is always a treat.
Always a great meal with wonderful family service
Worst dining experience we've ever had.
They sat us outside even though we had a reservation and it was freezing.
Will not be recommending or coming back.

Stopped in Omar’s on a Sunday 9/29 around 11am. It was surprisingly slow paced for the time of day. We were the only customers inside the dining room (other patrons were on the patio).
Our waitress was friendly and answered all of our questions. Unfortunately, during the meal we were able to overhear staff carry on personal conversations which was not ideal (bordering unprofessional behavior with customers around).
I ordered chicken & waffles, my boyfriend ordered a hot chicken sandwich (can’t recall the actual menu name for it) and we also shared an order of strawberry donuts. Everything was really good and came out in a timely manner. I wish we had tried this place on a busier morning to really tell the difference in service and quality.
Atmosphere is a 3 ⭐️ due to the decor being kind of dated & the staffs lack of discretion during our experience.

What a wonderful dining experience my friend Hope and I had this evening! Johnny provided excellent service with a smile. We each had the WalnutBourbon Bronzed Salmon with seasoned polenta cake and corn maque choux. We split a side of roasted sweet potatoes. For dessert we were very impressed with the bread pudding with English cream and drizzled chocolate. We plan to return to try their Brunch!
