My family and I drive by year after leaving another restaurant. We turned into the parking lot and once inside already felt that the energy here was goods. This place reminds me of "home" in North Carolina. Everyone greets you including customers and staff when you enter. The cashier immediately asked us if we were ready to order and when we said we needed more time she politely let us take our time. Once we order we sat down at the table and our food took about 10 minutes to come out. They brought it to our table and everything was hot and fresh. They chicken was hot and crispy. The okra was good but needed a little salt which was easily remedied. I honestly didn't care for the mac and cheese I prefer baked. The puffs (fried biscuits) cake with honey and were interesting. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area. Great service and good food!

The cooks weren't wearing gloves, the server was eating on the line and then proceeded to pick her teeth after finishing, and then dug in her ear. I watched all of this happen with my own eyes, and not once did anyone even think about washing there hands. Myself and my family are never going back. And the chicken was light skin, smh...

The staff was courteous and the food was delicious. It was a little expensive but worth it. I had not been there in several years since I no longer live in Norfolk. However, it is still home to me. This is one of the places I miss!I bought a family pack of chicken tenders with sides of mac and cheese and greens. It was more than enough for my family with plenty left over.

5 stars because the chicken was just amazing. It got the three piece dinner with Mac and cheese and corn pudding. I didn’t care for the Mac and cheese but I did like the corn pudding. The real star was the chicken. Some of the best I have ever had. The skin was amazing. The prices are reasonable for the times and the place was clean. The women at the register was very kind and efficient. I am looking forward to going back. Also, the puff pastry things were amazing. They serve them with honey, but I loved them plain.
