Food is amazing! Had a taste of the Turkey Burger and the j*** chicken. Try the mac n' cheese and the cabbage. Just a heads up, the j*** chicken was a little spicy but bearable.

I was in town for a conference and decided to check this place out for some take out. It's pretty solid Jamaican food in the Ocean View area. Ordered the j*** chicken with cabbage, rice and beans, and plantains. The j*** chicken was amazing, perfectly seasoned and super tender. Rice and beans were yum as was the cabbage. The portions are huge! I'm not saying that kept me from eating all that chicken! The owner is super sweet! It's relatively new so locals...show him some love!

We found Red Hibiscus in a pavilion at the Unity Festival by the beach- they were serving a limited menu from their restaurant. The food was amazing! Don't miss it. I recommend the j*** chicken. It's a culinary experience you won't forget soon. Add some fish cakes on the side too!

Counter guy was nice. Rice and peas had no flavor, didnt have patties. Atmosphere felt tired and worn out. We need more places to eat in OV but the place needs improvement.

I love this place! It's new, so some kinks are to be expected. But, the service is friendly and the food delicious. Had the plantains and shrimp, and will go back for the ox tail (which I was too chicken to try, but my friend ordered and loved). It's nice to have something different than brewery bar food in the neighborhood!

Poor staffing. Portion size very small for the prices. Most meals $15 or more. Dark meat only, which is fine but it shouldn’t be so expensive. Small limited menu and slow service. Last time I went on a Wednesday around 2 and they weren’t even open. Tried this place again and again but it’s just not worth it.

Been here several times and always get/see terrible service. The owner has no sense of urgency even though we patiently waited in our seats for 20 minutes on our first visit. The food was NOT worth the money. MPs is a thousand times better.

I'm trying to give these folks the benefit of the doubt b/c the food was good the two times I had it. That being said, I have been to their establishment 3 times and they have not been open as their schedule indicates. They are missing out on money!!!
It's horrible food. The representation on food it's not pretty. Looks like they just put s*** together.first time to try Caribbean food and I'm not impressed. I only took 2 bites of my food. The taste was so strong.and the price is to much for the shitty food.

Paid $1700 for this meal. Portion size are decent but you mainly pay for the oxtails (Only got 2) no extra gravy like asked. But that was not the main problem. I spoke with the sales associate about the order he told me that the Mac and cheese was being made and needed an extra 15 mins in that time frame my next Uber eats driver came to pick the waited order(first driver left) I waited just for him to send and old batch of Mac and cheese (pictured) and also including a fresh one. Why would you send and order out like this? The Mac and cheese noodles were hard and crunchy tasted burnt and old as if it was reheated. The oxtails tasted like burnt pot roast instead of carribean cuisine flavors the beans and rice seemed as if it need to cook a little longer overall.Once the order was picked up I called the driver to make sure he had the right order, I order 2 meals of the same food both with an extra side(Mac & cheese, & cabbage). I am not satisfied with this meal and spent $50 bucks just to get it. Not including the tip that was given to the driver (in cash)... I wish it was an better outcome but yeah I don't know about ordering from here again.

I got a YELP account just to write this review. We went to this restaurant today and were very disappointed. We ordered the king fish with peas and rice, cabbage and a side order of plantains. The cabbage was mushy, the rice was not tasty and it also had peppers and okra and kidney beans. I've been to some of the very best Caribbean restaurants around the country and never had rice like that. I also ordered a side of plantains for an additional three dollars. When I looked at my order the plantains were cut super thin in quarter and nickel sized coins and after I counted them there were only twelve. Even worse after I spoke with the chef he said that's how we serve them and then tried to make me feel like I was lucky to have have gotten as many as I did. Also it was rice and kidney beans "really?" The whole experience was lame from the moment I called to when I arrived and picked up my food. When I called the girl who answered was unable to answer my questions. Every question I asked, she said, "hold on" then yelled to the chef and repeated my question while I waited a minute for each answer. Cleary she was not trained on customer service. The king fish was ok. This is not the way true Caribbean's serve food. This was the first and last time I will EVER order from this restaurant. I was hungry before. Now I'm hangry. What a waste of money and time.
