I really really loved this place when it first opened. I brought a few friends on a Sunday who all loved their food. The staff treated us to a house shot because we had great energy, and I really loved the idea of brunch running 12pm-10pm. But over the past 3 years, I have seen this place go all the way downhill. From store hours being posted and staff staring at me-- as I'm locked out- when I show up during those hours to over an hour-long wait times for Sunday brunch with just a few tables full. The service is horrid. The staff are friendly but the whole place seems like it's in need of an owner who shows up more to make sure service runs smooth. The only reason I haven't rated it a 1 at this point is because their Sunday brunch is the BEST food in town. But on any other day of the week, the food can taste as bad as plastic...

Shout out to Yummo Bucko! A party of 4 we all spent close to $100, please know a 15% gratutity is added to each person no matter the size of group. This place will fill up fast (small and quaint), opens at noon on Sunday. I checked online to see if reservations could be set up and didnt see where that was an option, upon entering we were asked if we had a reservation. Even though we didnt we were told to select wherever we wanted to sit.

Food ordered: Sampler - grits where stiff and saudage links appeared and tasted as if straight out of (brown & serve box)

Fried shrimp - seasoned well and fried perfect

Eggs Benedict (2x) - one with fried, one scrambled it comes with two crab cakes and 2 lamb chops (lamb chops were supposed to be grilled medium well. Lamb chops was a new born baby lamb chop and so tough to bite)

Side order of original French Toast - ( one piece of bread cut in half $6.00)

Lamb chop brunch meal - comes with 3 lamb chops, smothered in brown gravy (I missed that part on the menu, I just wanted med well grilled lamb chops which came out the same as above. The menu stated mashed potates came with; however received cheesy grits with lobster meat. NO on the grits and the lobster was OK).

Lemon Pepper wings to go - brought order out and gave to the wrong person with no bag, just plopped down and walked away.

4 Mimosas which was ok.

Will we try this place again??? - Possibly on another day, just not BRUNCH.

Business wasn't ready for the crowd. Came to visit cause of creativity on Facebook review yummo bucko. I WILL NEVER RETURN. My family came in from Washington DC and they wasn't happy food, service, communication from the kitchen to waitress. Always need to be prepared for anything.

I ordered my food off DoorDash and was highly disappointed because my order was missing one of my items. I called the restaurant and Ms Rain with great professionalism and courtesy she quickly responded and listen to the concern Thanks so much the restaurant has 3.9 stars I truly believe this restaurant will get 5 stars sooner or later !

Service was amazing. They treated my son and I with great service and flexibility. We went on Friday during happy hour. We had the chicken wings 2 orders, empanadas 2 orders, chicken tenders, rasta pasta, and a Republic Bowl. The only dish we didn't enjoy was the Rasta Pasta. The chicken in the rasta pasta was plain grilled, with no flavor in it. 6 good dishes out of 7 dishes isn't bad.

Although when we walked in it was empty we were still very optimistic as to try it out. We are not from Virginia so are always seeking out new places that are NOT chain restaurants. We started with drinks and crab balls. The drinks were subpar and the crab balls were very salty. On to the main entrees… I had the Rasta Pasta, with steak bites the steak looked like mystery meat. The second entree was oxtails with the cabbage and plantains. The oxtails were more fat than tails and the plantains were dry even though fried. The cabbage was pretty good. The next entree was the crab and shrimp pasta with the cheesy garlic bread. The crab meat was barely there and the overall meal was salty as well. Once the crowd got bigger, the vibes changed slightly but the overall service just was not the best for me. No establishment , whether it’s McDonalds or upscale restaurant should allow servers to have AirPods in while on the clock. We tried to wave down our waitress a few times but she was unable to hear us due to the AirPod in her ear and the music playing in the background. We notified the chef of our displeasure in the food and service and the manager came out to speak with us. Only to offer us a free meal on our NEXT visit even AFTER asking if we were locals. All I can say is to stay on the safe side and order appetizers.

Service was good and there was a nice atmosphere, but the food wasn't very good. Menu seems to want to be fancy for the sake of being fancy. The food wasn't bad, but wasn't good enough to justify the prices.

Only complaint was them breaking the price of a drink up because they didn't make it, but they don't have a drink menu. 🙄 Do they charged me 10 for the vodka and 10 for the other liquor which made one drink. Y'all got to do better than that.

Waited 2 hours for food. I arrived at 12noon on a Sunday following NSU's Homecoming and seats were full with exception of the bar,the person that came with me was handicap and there was no seating accomodations to accomodate, the Bartender was decent, the 1st Cotton Candy Mimosa was warm had to request ice,,the rest of the drinks were good. The manager provided a 50% discount on the final tab.The ladies room toliet seat was broke and had a plastic bag over the lid (no lid)..Improvements seriously needed. Need more space, very limited seating.Visiting from Raleigh,NC,will not return. A Overated Brunch spot.
