There was ample parking, no wait for a table. Amazing customer service! Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The food arrived very quickly. I would have to say that these are the best tacos that I have ever eaten, and I have eaten a lot! You are able to custom create your taco. The food is fresh, delicious and comes with unique toppings and flavors. Exotic drinks available with names as unique as their tastes. Do yourself a favor and come on in! You will not be disappointed! Prices are great too, more bang for your buck!

The bartender was the 1st great thing about this place. She came off as kinda sassy but you realize she has to explain the same thing over and over to all new people. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks and food. The tacos were amazing kudos to the cooks. Coming from out of state and not knowing where to eat, I'm glad I chose this place.

Sanctuary is true jewel in Norfolk, a place that offers all of these things and feels welcoming and cool, while also providing exceptional tacos and drinks. So grateful I happened upon this place and the excellent reviews that I read not only captured the extraordinary service and mixology, but hinted at the phenomenal service and ambiance. After learning that the artwork was created by the owner/bartender, I purchased a print that is not only evocative and has already provoked conversation, but contains its own gems when you know that the owner of Sanctuary comes from a lineage that includes Steve Rubell and the Palladium... I hesitate to post this review because The Sanctuary is everything that makes Norfolk unique, and trust that it will remain a gem among establishments that have other priorities.

The Sanctuary was a surprise find for us and a great experience for a Saturday morning stop. We were expecting it to be a regular taco spot and it ended up being a bar with tacos. We grabbed a couple of margaritas and 4 tacos each which was a lot of food. I'd say 3 tacos, especially a mix of the BBQ Chicken and some Pork tacos is perfect.

One of the best hidden gems I've ever stumbled onto. The place was cool, the tacos were phenomenal. The owner was very friendly and attentive. Super passionate about his restaurant and his art he has displayed in the bar. I loved the simplicity of the ordering and customizing process. A rad little spot tucked away in the heart of Norfolk.
