BEST TACOS IN NORFOLK! One of my favorite spots in Norfolk, the food is amazing and Nicole K is the greatest and sexiest bartender I’ve ever met in my life! The owner is also a super awsome guy,love that guy! This place is great hidden space to go and forget about things.
Was out at Afterglow last night and decided to try the place again because the kids wanted tacos. It was a total turn around from last time we were there, glad to see because the tacos are always great.

Loved the atmoshpere and the food was good. But the service was a little spotty. There was a lack of communication with the bartender. Make sure you know your exact drink of choice, otherwise you will be charged. I didnt know one of the beers on tap was a sour, but i hate sour beer. When i asked to swap it out, i was charged for the sour beer despite not being offered a sample and only had taken a sip. Because of the bottom tap beer glasses our drinks were leaking and covered in beer- sometimes with A LOT of head. Also the bartender condescendingly called his coworkers "kiddo" when they are fully grown adults. Overall, couldve been a lot better.

Great vibe and food, unfortunately the guy behind the bar is terrible. Not sure if he’s an owner but he’s a douche. Not great with customers and charged us for a beer we didn’t drink. We asked if we could switch the beer because it was a sour, which we didn’t know, and he ended up charging us for it despite only taking one sip and him taking it away. Communication was lacking, to say the least.

Love this place. However, I fear that staffing issues are going to start to be bad for business. I and a group of friends got up and left Saturday after waiting for almost 30 minutes to be waited on. One person can’t tend bar AND work the floor! The owner needs to take more interest in his business.

The only consistency at sanctuary is the inconsistency. It's nice they always have shrimp compared to the original location, but service 9/10 times is abysmal. On a recent visit my order came out completely plain even though I marked up the sheet and it had to go back.

You guys could have done so much better tonight. Your chef offered me taco sheets and then your bartender says the kitchen has closed. At 9:00 pm your kitchen is closed?!?? Guess I’ll go to McDonalds….at least I’ll get consistent service.

Open air for summer weather, server was polite and attentive.
Yum, yum fish tacos, shrimp tacos. Need more hot sauce at the tables, had to search for some, most bottles had very little left in them not all flavors were available.

Although they closed an hour before closing time for the kitchen the bat tender called the manager and the situation was rectified. The cook threatened to call the police in which I encouraged him to do so. He did not. My aggravation was apparently they don’t have a work phone and I wanted to talk to a manager because I was told I couldn’t order food at 5:15 and they close at 6. I was compinsated a free drink after I talked with the manager. I was a bit disappointed when the cook threatened to call the cops by I did encourage him to do so

Will be back for more Happy Hour drinks and Sanctuary-Style tacos (with hot sauce!!). Choose your own adventure with toppings, and the side coleslaw mixed with taco droppings is yummmm
