This place was perfect. I love family owned restaurants. And this one is friendly, and seems to be run really well. When ever I am back in the area again I will definitely come here again.

My goodness what happened to Sandfiddler Cafe. When we are in town this is our go to place. When our friends visit this is where we would take them. After a year hiatus, we finally were able to come back and it will probably be our last time, which is unfortunate because this place was great.
We walk in (July), and the ac is ridding the struggle bus, it warm.
I tell the gentleman at the desk we are a family of 5. 2 adults, 3 kids (not little kids but 14 year old ages). The gentleman seats us at a table for 4. When I tell him I am going to pull the 2 top over to the 4 top I am met with an eye roll. Okay, cool.
Our waitress Nina, I am not sure if she’s new, or had some other things going on or just not that great of a waitress. We waited 10 mins to place our order and nearly 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive, I had to ask her for our drinks.
One of our orders wasn’t right but Nina is no where to be found. Drinks stayed empty in a restaurant with a struggling ac in July, order isn’t right, and we waited and waited annnnnnnnd waited. Other employees did walked past our table with not even a glance or an acknowledgment when we tried to get someone’s attention.
Photo of my bacon omelette. It was 2-3 strips of bacon wrapped in a thin egg blanket.

Jeff, the former owner, was always walking around checking in with his guests, interacting with his employees, and created a very welcoming atmosphere.

Pricy, Good food, I had crab cakes eggs Benedict,
The food was on the cold side. Tasty. Service was ok, the isle between tables is narrow makes for a bottleneck and the tables are kind of close. The artwork on the wall is all for sale and very interesting!

The bestes place for breakfast or brunch!!!!!! Handsdown better than Ihop and Dennys combined. The food is fantastic and fairly priced. Family owned business Love seeing the whole family working together makes my heart melt. Very clean as well.

Delicious brunch, super clean, excellent service and ambiance. Interesting artwork. Would definitely go back (again)! Husband, teen and I apparently went to this place a few years ago because they remembered how good the food and service was. So I had the task of trying to find it… they thought the name was close to Adam Sandler… so I searched in the vicinity between VA beach and northern VA to find this place using some creative search terms… after much research using Sandler, Norfolk, cafe, etc… we found it! And it did not disappoint. Loved having Pearle who was helpful on the selection of menu items and quite on time with the delivery of our items. And no hovering! Coffee was nice and hot! Not too strong and not watery… like Katie’s 33 at VA Beach (food was good though). We ordered a lot for just the three of us. See pics. Pancakes were similar to crumpets- spongy- which I loved. Turkey sausages were good. Hash browns were amazing according to teen. Home fries were good (onions were nice touch). The only thing I would recommend to them is to bring hot maple syrup with pancakes. Thank you to the family owned restaurant for making our drive by stop interesting and delicious!

I frequent this place often with my family. We are new to the area and love a good breakfast. My husband loves the crab omelette. He gets this every time however we ask for the grapefruit each time and it’s never available. Take it off the menu if you’re not going to keep it in stock. The host usually a male is super lazy. I have never been to a place where the hostess does not walk you to your table and hand you your menus. He literally points at a table and tells you to sit there. The host is the first face customers see when entering a restaurant they need to be greeted with a smile politeness and walked to their tables. The rest of the food we have tried has been good. Nothing under cooked or over cooked. The apples aren’t sweet however. Might just be this restaurant’s recipe. Everything else is good. This restaurant is definitely kept clean.
