if i could give no stars i would, the older gentleman that took my order yesterday was very rude and clearly had no intel on the menu items, i ordered two medicine balls and from my knowledge yes they aren’t on the menu listed as that however being as i have previously worked for the company i know they exist and he demanded they didn’t exist and he said i could not order that because he didn’t know what it was, he was very awful mannered and had no human decency. i was very disappointed in my experience.

We stopped in to get hot chocolate, 10mins before they were closing. The barista's did not treat us like they would get ready to close in 10 minutes. They both took their time with us to complete our orders.

I am not a fan of Starbucks; local cafés are always better. (My personal favorite is Caffiend in Ghent :)

Our group of 14 had an exceptional experience at this Starbucks! Scott went above and beyond helping me arrange everything for our large party, and when the weather caused a last-minute change, he made the adjustments seamlessly and with such kindness. The entire team took wonderful care of us — friendly, organized, and genuinely welcoming.
On our second visit the following week, we were greeted with the same amazing service. A special shout-out to Kaleb, who served us with a smile even on a busy day. It’s rare to see a team that consistently delivers this level of warmth and hospitality. Thank you, Scott, Kaleb, and the entire Starbucks crew — you made both of our visits exceptional.

I’m a retired military veteran and a new resident to the state of Virginia and I was a regular here up until a week ago. Keep in mind I barely speak when I come in and very respectful towards everyone.
I noticed my mobile orders were not being made correctly, couldn’t go back to fix immediately because i have lectures in grad school to attend.
So, my last time coming here was the last straw. I don’t know if they were Hispanic or Latino. It was a male and female working that night. The female kept saying “hi” to me as if she was imitating a five year old. Then the male had a big grin on his face as they looked at me while preparing my mobile order.
He gave me my mobile order and I saw that my venti very hot cup was not prepared properly. I saw that he placed another gentleman’s cup exactly like mine in the same area. The gentleman’s cup was prepared like it should. I left, then came back and spoke to the manager and told him what I witnessed. The manager was a black guy with a beard and long hair with glasses. Forgive me, but I forgot his name.
In a business you have to understand what passive aggressive bullying is. It can happen to coworkers and customers. I don’t know if you guys have audio and cameras but it’s definitely needed.

Came in to grab a mobile order , and I have never really been to a Starbucks in Norfolk let alone any really at all , not too much of a coffee drinker. But I went to the front where you would order to ask were I pick up my mobile order and a kind worker directed me to the side at the end of the counter, so I went and asked another employee where the mobile orders would be if they were prepared and with the snarkiest, rude face and tone the employee said “over here but it’s not ready , obviously” and just gave me a disgusted look like I wronged her for asking a question and her having to do here job , which all I asked was a question on where to get my order . So I waited and as I did I watched her just seem annoyed with just everything , not a coffee drinker and with that I don’t think I’ll be coming back to be one again . Also her name was started with an S , but her name tag had her name written very faintly and unreadable which now I can see why.

Starbucks on Granby Street: A Reliable Perk in Downtown Norfolk
The Starbucks on Granby Street in downtown Norfolk is a consistently solid spot that serves its purpose well: providing a familiar and convenient coffee fix in a bustling urban setting. It's my go-to when I need a quick caffeine boost or a reliable place to catch up on emails, earning a dependable four stars.
What makes this location shine is its consistency and convenience. You know exactly what you're going to get – your favorite Starbucks beverage, made to order, often with commendable speed even during busy periods. The baristas are generally efficient and friendly, working hard to keep the line moving and ensuring accuracy with orders. Whether it's a meticulously crafted latte, a refreshing iced tea, or a simple black coffee, the quality is reliably Starbucks-standard.
The location itself is a big plus. Situated right on Granby Street, it's easily accessible for downtown residents, workers, and visitors alike. There's usually ample seating, a mix of tables and comfortable chairs, making it suitable for both quick grab-and-go orders and those who want to linger a bit with their laptop. The atmosphere is typical Starbucks – a low hum of conversation, the clatter of cups, and often some background music, creating a familiar and relatively comfortable environment.
Why not five stars? Like many high-traffic Starbucks locations, it can get quite busy, especially during morning rush hour and lunch breaks. This can sometimes lead to longer wait times for drinks, and finding an open table can be a challenge. While the staff is efficient, the sheer volume of customers sometimes limits the ability to provide truly personalized service. Also, while clean, the wear and tear of high foot traffic are occasionally visible, making it feel less pristine than some newer or less-trafficked locations.
Despite these minor points, the Granby Street Starbucks remains a vital and reliable hub in downtown Norfolk. It consistently delivers on its promise of a quick, quality coffee experience in a convenient location, making it a strong four-star performer for those seeking their familiar Starbucks fix.

I believe a restaurant or coffee shop shouldn’t be stingy about giving a cup of water. Why do I have to buy something else just to get a cup of water? It wasn’t even a large cup. I asked for a cup of water and the barista prepared it and right as he was about to hand it to me, some register worker intervened. Fix this behavior!!

Review from a colleague!
I am regular and go to this Starbucks every morning. I order the same order but this morning I was being served by the manager and her comprehension of service is terrible.
The worst part is the Manager and the staff could not fix my order.
It would be nice to get what you pay for. Service with a smile! At least serve something the customer can drink.
Management is the score of the issue and the store reflects the attitude of the Manager. How may times do I need to complaint to Starbucks senior management about service from this Starbucks.

Food(drinks) awesome as always. Made just the way you requested in the app.
-no disappointment there.
Service - hands down one of the few places that actually give you what you order and don't have to remake it.
Atmosphere - in this Starbucks it was kind of blah. It seemed kind of quiet when I first walked in, then there were different areas in which the people sitting there started talking louder and louder as if they wanted me to hear their conversation a few tables away.
I saw a few kids in the store, and their parents looked annoyed. As to the loud conversations they were not kid-friendly either.
To me, starbucks is a place for piece and quiet, sit and relax, wait for a drink and maybe grab a quick snack.
After a long day, no one wants to hear extra nonsense. I then moved to another table in a different section and of course....the conversational folks wants everyone to hear and join in, they got loud again. So glad my drinks were just done for me to receive and head out into the quiet streets that day.
Weather was excellent, and so were my custom made to order drinks.
Parking: Street parking with the meter. Best to meter park and then walk around and stroll the area on a good weather day. Just get back in time before the meter is up.
