Went for brunch and learned that any dish with egg cheese and sausage could be veganized. I got the breakfast quesadilla no sour cream. Best one ever. Wish I could give 5 stars. Thanks to our server Willow! Will be back.
I stumbled on this place through DoorDash. I decided to go in person and try it and BOY AM I GLAD I DID. This place is wonderful, I got the banana mocha (has alcohol) and it was delicious. For my breakfast I got the monte cristo and it was amazing. The avocado burrito was also ordered and it looked amazing. I was told it was so good. I’ll definitely be bringing my friends over here for breakfast. This place is nice and quiet. So wonderful!

I found this place on my Gluten Free app. It's a breakfast/brunch/lunch place that has a variety of dishes and most can be made GF. Better yet, the server told me they prepare GF dishes in a separate area to minimize cross-contamination. Both my friend and I enjoyed our food and we have put this on our list of lunch spots to return to. They had a display of goodies that offered GF options, but I did not partake this time. The music was good, too.

I love the aesthetic of this place. Everyone is so polite and approachable. They have 2 dressing that I am currently obsessed with (lemon | lavender) both made in house. I go to spot for a nice vegan brunch. (Finding vegan option restaurant becomes a pain .. they have a good amount of vegan options)

This place is perfect for anyone who is gluten intolerant. The owner is, so she takes it seriously. I had the best waffle ever. My husband had biscuits and gravy which he really enjoyed. Great food, but people with heart, which you can feel in atmosphere and in the care they put in to every meal. Whats not to like? We will be back, any time we are in the area.

Took my gluten free friend here today because I’ve heard great things about the place and it definitely didn’t disappoint! We got two Oh Henry Benedict’s but my eggs were over cooked, so I asked the waitress if there was any way I could just get two eggs a little runnier on top of what I have so they don’t have to make a whole new plate. The chef herself came out shorty after with a whole new plate of freaking awesome Benedict’s. I appreciated it so much and it was so delicious. Will be coming back!!

Food is really good, service is as well. Our server, Isabelle, was awesome! There’s fresh squeezed orange juice that reminds me of my time in Santorini, Greece. I’ll be back for more of for sure!

I recently visited The Starving Artist Café in Ghent and had a truly memorable experience. The café’s atmosphere is inspiring—walls and tables adorned with original artworks, creating a bright, creative space that feels welcoming whether you're working, chatting, or just savoring breakfast
🍲 The Chorizo Bowl — A Standout Dish
I ordered the Chorizo Breakfast Bowl, and it exceeded expectations. A hearty mix of scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, sautéed vegetables, and chorizo seasoned to perfection. The flavors were bold yet balanced—savory, slightly smoky, with just enough spice. It was served piping hot in a generous portion—ideal for starting your day on a flavorful note.
While other reviewers often praise the brisket or turkey sausage bowls, I can confidently say that the chorizo version is a standout in its own right
During my visit, Jamie was able to accommodated a last‑minute party of 10 from the NIWC Chief's mess. A testament to his exceptional hospitality and commitment to serving others, especially fellow service members.
✅ Why You’ll Love It
Creative, welcoming atmosphere: local art + warm vibes = inspiring and relaxed.
Veteran-led mission: A heartfelt commitment to community and support for artists and first responders .
Fantastic food: Bowls packed with flavor, especially the chorizo variety—each bite memorable.
Outstanding service: Able to flexibly host a group of 10 on short notice, all while staying friendly and accommodating
The Starving Artist Café is more than a breakfast spot—it’s a community hub where art, veteran values, and crave-worthy food come together. The Chorizo Breakfast Bowl lives up to its name: bold, satisfying, and unforgettable. And Jamie’s leadership—warm, efficient, community‑oriented—makes every visit feel like brunch with friends.
If you're after good flavor, local flair, and genuine hospitality, this is a must-visit.

This is a 5 star place. We come here every other Sunday for breakfast. Staff is outstanding and so is the food. Gotten to know the staff and the owners quite well that we feel like family. Love this place.❤️❤️❤️
Party of 7 but only 6 meals. We were seated “out back” and the amount of flies was unbearable and even worse once food started coming, after over an hour. One person ordered a moscato and they were “out” so a margarita was ordered instead. However they brought a “champagne spritzer” as charged on our bill. As we ordered drinks I asked for a muffin cold which took 15mins and a reminder only for it to be hot. 4 people ordered different scramble bowls, 2 of them didn’t have more than 5 pieces of potatoes, one didn’t have the requested sauce, and the other lacked flavor. All of the bowls needed salt and pepper. The 5th person ordered French toast and that came 20mins after everyone else’s food. And missing the apples. There was also an order of blueberry pancake, super thin and didn’t have any blueberries. The name “Starving Artist” is appropriate for this because you will be starving because your food arrives

I don’t know what happened . When I walked in they met me with a smile. I ate outside in the back area. The double exspeso was like super strong coffee. We ordered and it took about 40 min to get food. Everything was cold. The sausage gravy was a mystery to me one bite and I pushed it aside. I ate two eggs one English muffin and had enough . I don’t know if they were understaffed but it wasn’t very good. I payed and left don’t think I would ever go back. But the employees were very friendly.
