I recently visited Stony’s Dockside Bar & Grill and was thoroughly disappointed. Despite being a seafood restaurant, the food was tasteless — even the cheesecake was left uneaten. The prices were high; I could have fed four people at an all-you-can-eat buffet for just $20 more. For what I spent, using plastic cups was unacceptable and showed a lack of care for quality.

The service was poor and inconsiderate. I asked for accessible seating, but instead of asking other guests to move, staff forced me to sit elsewhere. They even stood in front of me while I was leaving a tip, which was uncomfortable and disrespectful.

The restaurant was clean and the noise level was acceptable, but I did not enjoy the seating or view because accessible seats were taken by people who did not need them.

Overall, Dockside failed to deliver on food, service, and accessibility. I cannot recommend this restaurant under any circumstances.

Stony's Dockside Bar and Grill offers a quintessential Norfolk experience with its stunning waterfront views and a laid-back atmosphere that’s hard to beat. It has become our go-to spot for a casual weeknight dinner or a sunny weekend afternoon.
The real star of the show here is the location. Situated right on the dock, the panoramic views of the water are simply fantastic. There’s nothing quite like watching the boats go by with a cold drink in hand. They have a great selection of local craft beers on tap, which is a nice touch and shows their support for local breweries.
The menu has a good variety of options, with a focus on fresh seafood. On our last visit, I had the fish tacos, and they were fresh and flavorful, packed with perfectly cooked fish and a zesty slaw. My friend tried one of their pizzas, and the crust was delightfully crispy. While the food has been consistently good, the service can be a little on the relaxed side, especially during peak hours. It’s never been a major issue for us, as we’re usually there to unwind and aren’t in a rush, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re on a tight schedule.
Overall, Stony's Dockside is a solid choice for anyone looking for a great meal with an even better view. It’s the kind of place that captures the easygoing spirit of Norfolk. We’ll definitely be back to soak in more of those beautiful sunsets.

We ordered takeout. We got the she crab soup and fish tacos, both were mid, bland, and unremarkable. The French fries were decent. But after spending $85, the food was not worth the cost. They also forgot to add our drinks and utensils. This place isn’t something I would try again after our experience.

5 star food, service, and vibe. crab sakes were delicious!

Stoney's is located at the Morning Star Marina, where we stayed. We were at the marina for three nights and ate there twice. The food is really good, drinks and atmosphere are great.

Had a business lunch on the patio. Beautiful view of the marina! The waitress was very good and excited about all the dishes! We loved the bang bang shrimp tacos and crab dip! The pizza and calamari were good. We will definitely be back! Cool vibes!
