I went for the lunch buffet, which they do every Sunday! You pay up front and serve yourself - about $20 per person after tax. The interior is clean, beautifully decorated, with plenty of table and booth seating and Bollywood dance scenes playing silently in the background. There is a vegetarian (not vegan) and a meat (mostly chicken) section. There are a lot of options - curries, breads, rice dishes, soups, sauces, and desserts. Everything was absolutely delicious!

I got a masala cheese dosa with a masala chai and it was delicious. ~$17 before tip, came with 3 sauces (not shown). I'm making this my regular stop for lunch dosa lol, it was really good. The buffet looked super tasty and smelled amazing, but unfortunately I was only there for take out :( I will be coming back to try the full buffet.

We loved cauliflower 65 so much we ended up ordering twice. Nice n spicy. Aloo tikki chat also was really yumm. Then we tried masala dosa must say was very good!! If you are in Norfolk area give this place a try and you would not be disappointed.. they also have lunch buffet which we did not try but reviews look good!!

I do not recommend. Just rude service and the buffet looks no where the same as the facebook pictures. It was our 1st time and no explanation of how to get our drinks or anything.(We asked a young man and there is a fountain drink area in the back and you get it yourself) The Lady just slapped napkins down and walked away. Food was average not worth $60 for 3 ppl. When leaving we said Goodbye as a courtesy and the lady ignored us.No worries my dear we won't be back!

While traveling stopped in. Menu is only via a QR code so I asked what vegan options they had. Cashier went to the back and then listed 4 options for me. I ordered Bhendi Masala (okra). Cashier asked my spice level, then he clarified- did I want to give it in American spice or Indian spice. I KNEW this place would be good!!! I said American hot but Indian medium. It actually was spicy! Masala portion I thought was kind of small for $11.99. But order was quick. I was there when it opened for lunch on a Monday.

Took my hubby to Sunday buffet lunch here and it was delicious. They have so many options to try on their buffet. I had Dosa for the first time and I am a fan. Will definitely get that again. I wish I could tell what all that I had these are the ones I remember Tandoori chicken, Tikka masala, a paneer dish, naan, fruit salad and some kind of puff soaked in honey. I loved everything I ate. This would be a great way to try Indian food with all the different options in the buffet. I am looking forward to go back again and try more things.

I had given up on Indian food in the vb/norfolk area until I tried Swagath. Gosh, this food oozes with love and quality. The chicken is so tender and the gravies are Full of whole spices and recognizable ingredients. This is food for the soul. Please, if you are looking for REAL Indian food, try them. Both times I have had it delivered. I can’t imagine how great it would be in person.

Swagath Plaza opened in March of 2019 in the Military Circle area of Norfolk, which has become well known for its concentration of Indian restaurants. Three others are Nawab, Biryani Hub, and Tamarind, all in walking distance from each other. The building houses an Indian restaurant, an Indian grocery store, and a banquet hall, all under one roof with approximately 14,000 square feet. This review is for its restaurant only. It was formerly a Chuck E. Cheese, and before that, the AMC Circle 4 Theater, which was built back in 1981. I saw many movies there back in the day. The owners hail from Andhra Pradesh, a state in the southeastern coastal region of India that is known for its tangy, hot and spicy Indian cuisine. They offer a huge buffet on Saturdays and Sundays. It features a salads and desserts section, a vegetarian section, and a non-vegetarian section for a total of about 30 dishes. Dosas and a variety of Indian flatbreads are also available. Two of my visits were on Sundays, which were jam packed with diners feasting on their buffet items. I am not much of a buffet person and ordered from the regular menu instead. I tried the following dishes during four lunch time visits: IDLI: This is a South Indian appetizer dish, consisting here of three steamed rice cakes served with a cool and creamy yogurt chutney and sambar, which is a lentil based vegetable stew. The rice cakes were large, light in texture, puffy and tasty. The chutney provided a nice cooling sensation while the sambar worked wonderfully in contrast as a hot dip My Rating: 5 Stars. CHICKEN MONCHOW SOUP: This is a hot and spicy Indo-Chinese soup with chicken and mixed vegetables. It was a small serving with just enough spice and depth of flavor to whet my appetite for my main dish. My Rating: 4 Stars. BHEL PURI: Listed in the Chaat section of their menu., it was described as "a slightly sweet, spicy, and chaat snack made with puffed rice, chaat chutneys, veggies, and sev." There were some puris and peanuts in the mix as well. Sev is a fried snack shaped like thin noodles made with besan flour from ground chickpeas, a staple ingredient in Indian cuisine. Puris are deep-fried breads made from unleavened whole wheat flour that originated from India. I tried this dish before at one other local Indian restaurant. The version served here was crunchier but less spicy. I prefer the softer texture and the extra spice as served in the version from the other restaurant. Otherwise, it was tasty enough with a large portion size that filled me up quickly. I would love this as a Super Bowl snack. My Rating: 4 Stars. CHICKEN 65: This was listed as a Non-Vegetarian Appetizer and is a traditional Indo-Chinese dish made with spicy fried chicken in a fiery red hot chili sauce. It was reportedly invented at the Buhari Hotel in India in 1965. The version served here delivered an authentic Indian heat level, along with a crispy texture and an incredible depth of flavor. This is one of the best versions I have ever tasted. My Rating: 5 Stars. CHICKEN 65 BIRYANI: This was a combination of a traditional Dum style pressure cooked Biryani with layers of basmati rice, various spices, and chunks of the spicy Chicken 65 described above. Dum style Biryani is a popular style of this dish prepared in the royal kitchens of Hyderabad, which is the capital of Andhra Pradesh. The dish was delightfully aromatic, and the basmati rice delivered the dry and flaky single grain consistency I love from a Biryani dish. The chunks of Chicken 65 were as spicy as before. My Rating: 4.5 Stars. NOTE: There is one other nearby Indian restaurant that makes this dish just a bit more to my liking. VIJAYAWADA CHICKEN BIRYANI: This a a near duplicate but milder version of the Chicken Biryani dish described above, The recipe originates from Vijayawada, which is the 2nd largest city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh The chicken was boneless and mildly spicy. Vijayawada style Biryani is traditionally not as spicy as Hyderabad style Biryani, a distinction the menu failed to mention. The rice was dry, f

I ordered the chicken pakora and the poori with chole. The poori was really good but very small portion for the price $9 and the chicken was just ok and small portion for the price $11

First time here and I experienced their buffet. I enjoy Indian food a lot! But it's been a while since I've had Indian food. They had a good variety of dishes and this place in particular had more options I felt, for vegetarians as well as for carnivores. I was able to taste other dishes I had never seen at other Indian restaurants, so that was a treat in itself! Unfortunately, I didn't take note of what they were but they were all delicious! It's a fairly extensive buffet with three separate self serve stations. Their mango kesari was so yummy! They even have a savory dessert and there's a label stating so, so there are no surprises if you're expecting it to taste sweet. It's located next to two other Indian restaurants! No lie! That must get interesting, unless they own the other two restaurants also. Next door is their food market, which makes it super convenient if you want to try and make your own Indian dishes at home. It's super spacious in there and clean. It was a former Chuck E. Cheese and before that the old AMC 4. I used to work there on occasion back in the day when it was AMC theaters. So it was neat to see how it has transformed. A solid choice for Indian food!

Stopped in for the lunch buffet. Lots of options to try out and all of it was delicious! The bonus was finding goat curry. It was perfect and had all the right flavors and heat. For what you get, the prices are very reasonable.
