Great coffee, drinks and food. The breakfast is a bit weak, but they're trying and the service was very friendly.

Visiting our son who’s stationed in Norfolk. (Go Navy!) this place was SO GOOD!!

I’m really sad to make this review but I don’t think things will change unless constructive criticism is made. I like the beer, don’t get me wrong. But this is the second time I’ve tried their food, “the mess deck”. And honestly, the food is usually undercooked or tastes like frozen food. I hope they can make a change.

It's my neighborhood brewery and I would love to give it a higher rating because we generally enjoy the beer and location, but I have now eaten here twice and the food is just....sad. I got different fries from others in the group (some had curly, decent, thick cut fries) and mine were straight, freezer burned, and under-fried...like maybe they ran out of fries and mine were an afterthought?
White pizza tasted like it had cheap, store-bought dough and it was extremely salty. And while I dont have high expectations for chicken tenders anywhere, the ones here reminded me of something you would find late night sitting under the heater at a 7-11.

Nice atmosphere. Good beer. We did not have food. Limited wine list.

Excellent customer service. Superb variety of brew. Great location. Easy parking. Friendly staff. After my experience tonight when I'm in Ocean View I'm going to Bold Mariner!

My wife and I came into the Bold Mariner at 1215 on Aug 22. We were serviced by a woman in the left corner as you face the bar. The lady was very cold to us and one word answering our questions. We got the sense she didn't want to serve us. I'm not sure if she was just having a bad day or if that is the customer service culture here but I thought it was very unwelcoming, especially for someone like myself who is a Marine trying to support veteran owned business like this.

We wandered in during Harry Potter's birthday and snaged some fun theme treat and drinks. Staff was outstanding and the treats were delish!

Just when I thought Bold Mariner couldn’t get any better they went and added coffee to the mix. Now you can start your morning steps from the beach with a fresh cup in hand. The vibe is relaxed the breeze is perfect and the smell of homemade pastries and fresh coffee is enough to make you want to stay all day.

What is better than sipping a rich brew with the ocean nearby? Not much. Whether you are an early riser or just looking for a new chill morning spot this place has it all. Do not sleep on the pastries either they are homemade and dangerously good.

Big win for the Ocean View community.

Good selection of beers and beverages, food is what you see in the photos on there google menu. No pulled pork no brisket. We had the bold burger the meat had absolutely no flavor. Not even sure if it was meat. Not even sure how it was cooked, No sear marks. The French fries are unique and good. Bottom line, good beverages, burgers not so good, fries good, price well 2 burgers 2 beverages 20% tip was $62.51

Best brewery in the 757! Beer is great and food is awesome! Personal favorite is the Dog Zebra IPA. They are family friendly. My kids love going there to get craft icecream. They serve coffee in the mornings along with breakfast pastry options. I like to grab a cup of coffee or a 6 pack to go and head to the beach right across the street. Their St Patrick's Day and Octoberfest events are a lot of fun. Also recommend trivia on Thursday nights which always brings in a great crowd.

I went frogman, X 2, there was a sour in the order as well. Food, flat bread pizza, a sub and fries. All was well received. The pizza was very good, shareable or poundable if hungry.

There’s a nice porch, plenty of room. Inside there’s plenty of space and some table top games.

Enjoy, drink like a frogman.

No longer BBQ, but is a good coffee spot for first part of the day then switches to another menu later on.
