The Restaurant at Four Eleven York

We had dinner here tonight to celebrate my son’s birthday with my husband and his grandparents.
From the beginning, everything was impeccable. We were served water immediately and our server, Brian was amazing. He told us about the calamari special which was to die for. The drinks we ordered were so good! I got the Tequila Spritz and my husband got the Pomegranate Daiquiri. We ended up sharing them because we loved them both so much.
Our dinners were beyond PHENOMENAL. I got the salmon and my husband got the wild mushroom risotto. His grandparents both got the flounder. All of us couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was! My salmon was cooked so perfectly and the combination of flavors was INCREDIBLE. I couldn’t keep my husband off my plate! We also received little “treats” during dinner. A cucumber with salmon tartare and a lemon aioli and later, a plate of amazing cheddar biscuits with blueberry compote and salted cream butter. Both were very well curated and tasty.
To finish it off, we got a citrus custard dessert with chocolate that was so interesting and yummy.
During this time, we were asked if we were celebrating and we told Brian just celebrating our sweet son’s 1st birthday. He very sweetly brought our boy a little cake with raspberry sorbet on a plate that said happy birthday with a candle. The smile on our son’s face wasn’t something I’ll ever forget.
Thank you so much to staff and chef for an amazing dinner and experience. Easily the best dinner we’ve had in a long time.

We had a wonderful meal and experience here last night! We ordered wine, oysters, squid, salmon, dessert, etc...everything was tasty and the service was excellent.

Restaurant at Four Eleven York was absolutely amazing. The vibes were Immaculate before you even walk in. Greeted and seated very quickly. The portion sizes are absolutely perfect for their prices. Bar drinks were also divine. I will definitely be back for date night.

atmosphere and service was great! food came with complimentary bread and a cucumber side. The dishes my partner and i ordered were fine but the only complaint i have were the warm oysters! i’ve never eaten warm oysters until i’ve stepped into this resto and was forcefully eating it because it was pricey for a dozen and too shy to complain. food is pricey for what you get also.

Located near Ghent and downtown Norfolk, this restaurant was a really pleasant find. The parking lot is small, but we had no trouble finding street parking nearby.

It was a little chilly tonight, but I imagine the outdoor seating would be perfect on a warmer evening. We didn’t have a reservation, but luckily we were seated within seconds.

The space itself is on the smaller side, but it’s thoughtfully designed and perfect for a cozy date night. Every employee who passed by greeted us, which made the atmosphere feel especially welcoming.

We started with the octopus, served with potato foam, pickled pear, and chorizo. For entrées, he ordered the duck and I had the pork bolognese. Both dishes were full of flavor and cooked perfectly.

We also ordered drinks. I do wish they had come out a bit earlier so we could enjoy them sooner, but the selection was impressive. We chose the bartender’s choice, which was a really fun experience. The waitress asks a few questions, and based on your answers the bartender creates a drink they think you’ll love.

We were too full for dessert, though they did offer four different options.

Overall, we were really happy we tried this restaurant and will definitely be back.

Outstanding experience! Wonderful flavors, beautiful presentations and warm welcoming staff. One of the few accessible places left that believes in amuse bouche. Definitely a perfect place for a special occasion. They enjoy their patrons enjoyment. We’re absolutely going back.

Went for the Valentine’s Day event. 4 course meal with a wine pairing. The food was quite good, however the chocolate chocolate chocolate dish was a bit dry and powdery. The real issue of the night was the wine pairing. The wine was presented with no reasoning for the pairing, no taste or smelling notes, and minimal information on what the wine was. When I say minimal, I mean the server said the name of wine and poured it, only once did the server tell me “this wine is from Hungary”. I am not an expert on wine but it felt like the wine was not representative of the price point. The first bottle of wine was a screw top white and the pairings themselves didn’t quite feel dialed in. The server didn’t name the sommelier who did the pairing so I suspect there wasn’t one. I say all this with the understanding that it sounds pretentious, however when the price of the meal for two is 383 dollars you expect a higher level of excellence.

Came in for my birthday and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. They even throw in little surprise treats throughout your meal to try. Highly recommend!

Great date night spot! We sat outside on the covered patio, and the fire pits kept us warm, which was a nice touch. The menu is smaller with just a few appetizers and entrées, but everything we had was very good. They start you off with a small fish dish, followed by biscuits that were really good before your main meal.

Our reservation was at 5:30, and we left around 7:00—it felt like a relaxed dining experience and never rushed. Our waitress Carly was great and really added to the experience. Would definitely recommend!

We reserved a private room for dinner with 6 other friends. The service and ambiance was top tier but the food was terrible. Especially being that our bill was over a thousand dollars. The gnocchi had zero flavor and tasted raw. All 8 of us were extremely disappointed in our meal. Unfortunatly we will never go back.

After a potentially disastrous night, I arrived at 4/11 York. Our server Carly delivered. Her fun and relaxed atmosphere turned me and my lady’s night around. The food was delicious, the drinks were fantastic. The service was almost too good to be true. I still feel like I don’t deserve to be treated so well. The atmosphere outside was so relaxing. I will very much be coming back here. The restaurant at four eleven York ATE. Five everyone
