Fantastic beer and a tremendous burger and even better to be able to enjoy both at Happy Hour pricing and with great company. I selected The Veil as the spot for my UYE and enjoyed an evening of talking shop with a friend while we drank those great beers.

The Veil is a comfortable spot in the Railroad District and we were sitting in their dining area on the ground floor. Big tables and plenty of room this afternoon. Which we needed because that burger and fries needed elbow room to enjoy. I'd only suggest a pump-based ketchup dispenser as the packet thing is tedious.

They opened here in 2019 - well after I was done with my projects in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake - transforming this three-story space into a family-friendly taproom and restaurant. The full kitchen specializes in indulgent smashburgers and Neapolitan-style pizzas that pair perfectly with the brewery’s bold stouts, hazy IPAs, and seasonal sours.

We didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the Only You Bar & Lounge upstairs. Maybe that's the next visit to Hampton Roads.

Love the beer, the smashburger is best in town

Wowwwww. We were going to make a trip to the Richmond location and then the next weekend the norfolk location opened. The beer was awesome and the FOOD 😅 amazing. Real spacious place with 3 floors & a bar on each floor. We will be back !

First time and so freaking overdue! The Richmond based Veil is a beer juggernaut that opened up a second location in Norfolk's Ghent hood pre pandemic in 2019.

I only experienced the downstairs on my visit with Yelp friend Bruce K. The Happy Hour pricing was a draw as well as stellar reviews.

Parking in their own smallish lot on a weekday was no problem. They also have free off street parking too! No debris in sight on my walk up. The signage is the building itself which is darn cool. They also offer outdoor seating.

I started off with a Blend which is a Pale and Pilsner if I recall and it was tasty. The counter service was excellent. You can cash tip or card. Customers can also leave a tab open.

The seating is wood bench type that comfortably seats six. The aesthetics of the first floor is high ceilings, concrete floors and walls. The kitchen has a garage door over the front. The space was previously a restaurant, but before may have been a factory, or warehouse. Only negative was elevated music, but that’s just me.

Prior to Happy Hour concluding I ordered a $6 on special smash burger that comes with fries. No other dudes are available. The regular price is $12, so this is a deal friends.

In about 20 minutes burgers and fries were delivered to the table. The look was downright amazing, so pretty much knew this bad boy was gonna be a hitter. The burger comes with double patty, cheese, Dukes mayo, lettuce a pickle. If something else I'm sorry I forgot. The first bite was phenomenal! Fresh bread, perfectly cooked 80/20 beef which was not greasy. The construction was a masterpiece. The thin fries were cooked crispy and seasoned well, yum!

Honestly I could eat that burger everyday. The whole experience was exceptional and worthy of a full 5. Totally recommend checking The Veil Brewing out.

The Veil Brewing Co. has definitely carved out a significant niche in the craft beer scene, and their Norfolk location lives up to much of the hype. It's a fantastic spot for serious beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike, offering a compelling experience that often hits the mark.
The beer selection is undoubtedly the main draw, and it's consistently impressive. They're known for their New England IPAs, stouts, and sours, and you'll usually find a diverse tap list with new and exciting options. The quality of the brews is generally top-notch, with creative flavor profiles and excellent execution. I particularly appreciate their willingness to experiment, and often, those experiments pay off wonderfully.
The atmosphere is vibrant and modern, with a distinct industrial-chic vibe that fits perfectly with the brewery aesthetic. It's a great place to gather with friends, and the staff are typically knowledgeable and friendly, ready to guide you through the extensive beer menu.
My reason for a four-star instead of a five-star rating comes down to a couple of minor points. Sometimes, the tap list can be a bit heavily weighted towards certain styles (like IPAs), which might leave someone looking for a broader range slightly wanting. Also, on peak days, it can get incredibly busy, making it a bit challenging to find a comfortable spot or get quick service. While these are minor quibbles, they keep it just shy of perfect for me.
Overall, The Veil Brewing Co. is a must-visit for craft beer lovers in Norfolk. It's a dynamic brewery with a strong commitment to quality and innovation, offering a great space to enjoy some truly excellent beers.

The mimosas by the pitcher are perfection.

I love Veil brewery in Norfolk! The beers and drinks are delicious, the pizza is amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect. Also, they are dog friendly on their patio and my pup absolutely loved his first visit! Highly recommend the Veil if you’re in Norfolk — and even though it’s a brewery, don’t sleep on the pina colada — it was one of the best I’ve ever had!!

Attended a private event here.. the service was great and they tended to our requests. Didn't take long to get drinks and the food was good. I will say that the premixed margaritas were not the best. However the prosecco was pretty good. Overall a good vibe, busy place, and plenty of parking. Casual attire.

I found this "Amazing", Brewery in Norfolk, VA called The Veil and Only You Restaurant amazing services.
The restaurant had 3 levels ✨️The inside Aesthetics were very nice. The 1st floor was a beer brewery, 2nd floor was chic and cozy lounge with a bar dim and romantic. The 3rd floor had a live DJ, a bar and seating to lounge around and eat.
Overall, the place was very nice.☺️

Good beer, good customer service, fries were good but the burger wasn't good, salty and made with the plastic cheese you buy a 12 pack for a dollar cheap cheese. Also the music is a tad too loud but at that point I'm nick-picking. Might go back but only for the beer, no food.
