Was shopping and couldn’t resist the smell coming from this restaurant. Was greeted immediately, very clean and friendly. First time ever having oxtail. Everything was so good. Will be back to try the rest.

I’ve been going to get my Jamaican food fix from Wah Gwaan for the last 4-5 months and I have to tell you, the experience is consistently amazing. The Owner is the sweetest, most personable and thoughtful chef I have ever met. The food is delicious, the rice is unlimited when you dine in and the music is just right. If you are in the Norfolk area, spending time at the outlet mall or grabbing some things from Costco… do yourself a favor and grab something to eat from this hidden gem. (It’s next to The North Face, you are most welcomed)

This is the best place we have been since being in Norfolk. Staff is wonderful and care deeply about your experience. Food is off the charts good at any price point. Memorable meal and will come back every time we are in the area.

Food and service were outstanding. GOAT curry and jerk chicken are so good!

The jerk chicken was great. My wife had the curry goat and loved it. It's the best Jamaican food outside of what my wife makes in this area. We are definitely going back!

Middle of the summer and why is the no ac in this establishment? I angrily upset about my man being horrible…rice and peas were soggy, jerk chicken wasn’t grilled and cabbage wasn’t right either. Got the price of the place I had no choice but to come and do this review. Service was great but the food didn’t meet the same quality. If you want authentic Jamaican food this is not it. Cool maybe for those who don’t know what it supposed to Tamara taste like or kids but 0/10 I would never do it again

I had a very disappointing experience at this Jamaican restaurant. By 6:00 PM, they had already run out of most of their food. The staff said they were only cooking more for tomorrow, which means it wouldn’t be fresh for the rest of the evening. The cook even came out and told them to stop taking any more orders, while customers were still waiting outside for food. We ended up leaving because they were out of food and no longer serving. Very unprofessional and frustrating.

I must say, the chef cooks like a true master! This is my third visit, and each time, the food exceeds my expectations in both taste and portion size. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, always greeting you with a smile—“Wah Gwan!” The restaurant is impeccably clean, which adds to the overall experience. I appreciate how they support the hardworking locals and shoppers alike. I highly recommend trying their dishes and sharing the experience with friends. Something smelled irresistibly delicious when we walked out of Sketchers and followed the scent to wah gwaan! Oh, it smelled heavenly. We enjoyed all of the food and friendly service. My friend enjoyed the jerk chicken and I ordered the oxtails which were way too expensive but so tasty. The potato salad was exotic tasting! The best part of the meal for both of us was the red beans and rice dish. So delicious. But everything was good. The restaurant was very clean with interesting art on the walls. The ladies that work there are beautiful.
