The food is really good and the flavors are so unique. The only thing that was lacking a bit was customer service and wait time. I entered the restaurant and there was no worker to greet me or answer any questions. After I entered my order in the computer (okra soup and jollof with stew), I waited an hour before I finally saw the owner and asked her how much longer for my food. she said it's almost done. but I had waited an extra 30 mins and decided to leave and come back. It took in total 1 hour and 45 mins for my food to be ready. With that being said, I understand west African food takes time to make, but communication could have allowed me to use that 1hour 45 min wait time to do others things and come back. no one communicated it would take that long. not only that, I highly recommend for there to be a warning sign for wait time to prepare customers ahead of time. other than that the food was great. I'll order again but I will order 2 hours in advance

I was really disappointed with the food. I placed my order in the restaurant for takeout and was waiting in the store for about an hour. Though the staff was nice and apologized for the length of time, my food was inedible. Not sure what was in the rice, but it ended up in the trash. I also ordered the okra soup, but they did not include my plantain fufu. No starch to eat my soup, and the meatpie was dry. This was my first and last visit.

please serve everyone the authentic taste that enters the restaurant. we do not want mash potato tasting banku, fufu etc . if americans wanted food to taste american we would go to american restaurant … unless you’re not really trying to appeal to your own kin . i’ve been to this restaurant several times hoping to get the authentic taste and only 1 time out of the 6 times did i receive authentic taste.

Quality of the food has gone down over the years. Chicken tasted old and was burnt, also had pink in the middle. Joloff rice had no flavor . It’s unfortunate because it’s overpriced l.

We waited 2 hours for our food. I went in several times to check on the status of our orders, and I was told 10 more minutes several times, which would have been fine had our food not been cold and stale, and I not been missing items. At this point what did we wait for! It was obvious there was no communication going on because the cashier was clueless as to what we had ordered when I went back in the second time. Not only did we wait forever, but they were out of several items I ordered, and had the ordacity to just put a random side they found fit to give to me. They knowingly and purposely put it in there because when I asked about it they said the cabbage wasn't done cooking yet; again, wouldn't have been an issue had you communicated that to me before hand. Upon asking for a refund, I was refused because he said the side they randomly gave me came with my order; the best he could do was switch it out( mind you this was after they tried to pull a fast one on me thinking I wasn't going to check my order). Had he been paying attention, he'd known I ordered an extra side he could have just refunded me back for that and took his broccoli with him. After alI this nonsense, I had to remind him I had a drink and ask for the sauces I ordered with my food because they shorted me that too. Normally I try to support local; I genuinely liked this place, but y'all are always unnecessarily struggling. Communication and planning seems to always be an issue because items are always missing or out of stock. The cold, inedible food was the icing on the cake.

Been wanting to try this place for a while and I finally did! I was pleasantly surprised at how good this food was. I ordered the Jollof rice and grilled chicken with a side of green beans. I also so got some puff puffs while I waited. I honestly can’t put into words how good it was but I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.

Worst egusi soup I’ve ever had in my life!!!
I ordered the egusi soup and it was made incorrectly. When I let the manager know she explained it was shipped from another location and there was nothing they can do. She then proceeded to throw my food in the trash can and when she realized the mistake she wasn’t willing to do anything to fix the situation outside of giving me an apology and sending me on my way. I felt like I was completely robbed and will not be coming back

I ordered waakye. They didn’t have it and gave me something else without calling to ask if I wanted the substitution because they didn’t want to lose the money. This is the second time they’ve done this. I can’t stand dishonest businesses

The lady at the register was very kind. After waiting over an hour for an in store order, the entire order had been substituted due to not having what I ordered. Some items substituted for things of lesser value without any compensation. The stew was palatable, the rice was scorched, and beef pie was stale.
Parking: A few spots in front of the store

The food is amazing and authentic! My husbands from Ghana and this resturant was a life saver! Brought comfort and a taste of home! The only negative thing to say the prices are high but most resturants are. I enjoy coming here when I can. MUST TRY PLACE IN NORFOLK!had to update almost everytime they forget an item either a side sauce drink or substitute food without asking. For allergy purposes they should be clear what is in the stews. I order one meat got two different types. Still delicious but could be dangerous for some who may have an allergy.
