Visited for the first time this evening and loved it! Sat at the bar and talked with the really friendly and helpful waitstaff/bar tenders. There was music playing, but not nearly as loud as some of the other places, so it was very nice to sit and talk with the person I was with. The happy hour drink and food specials are great and go on until 7pm every day! Once our food arrived, we were completely sold. We got 4 different tacos and all were wonderful! Very full tacos with lots of flavor. All the meats were juicy and delicious and the pico and corn salsas were obviously fresh and full of color and flavor. We will definitely be back!!

I recently tried Taco Rock-Oakton, and if I could, I'd give it 3.5 stars, but since Google doesn't allow half-star ratings, I'll round it up to 4 stars. While their tacos were decent and on par with competitors like Taco Bamba, I found their quesadilla to be lacking compared to their tacos.One aspect that left me somewhat undecided about this place is the atmosphere. It's hard to describe, but it felt a bit too bustling and chaotic for my liking. In comparison, Taco Bamba offers a more enjoyable atmosphere.Despite these critiques, I may still give Taco Rock-Oakton another try in the future. While it didn't completely win me over on my first visit, I'm willing to give it another chance to see if it improves.Overall, Taco Rock-Oakton has potential, but there are some areas where it could use refinement, particularly in the quality of certain menu items and the atmosphere. If you're in the mood for tacos and willing to overlook a slightly hectic environment, it might be worth a visit.

Love this place. They have an extensive Taco menu, prices are excellent. Regular tacos under $4 and specialty under $5. I couldn't believe how many seafood taco options they had...tried the salmon and ahi tuna and both were great. The ordering is self-order on big screens, pick a pager and walk to a table. They have a good lively bar and even a house beer special. The tacos themselves were excellent, service was great and quick...On the downside, if you want alcohol, you can't order at the screens, have to go to the bar...that was a bit weird as I had to double order and swipe card twice. But by the time I did that and washed my hands, food was already at the table and it was good! I think I'm going to be a regular!Kid-friendliness: Kids loved playing with the big screens, picking up a pager and ordering themselves. Options were great for kids...my son ordered a taco with spicy cheetos in it and loved it.

My friend and I came here last Thursday for dinner on national margarita day. They have some bar seating and plenty of tables. They had two bartenders, some cooks and food runners. There's no servers because you order your food at kiosks near the entrance and take a buzzer that lets you know when your food is ready. I think this is a very smart concept except for the fact that you can't order alcohol through there and have to order at the bar. The bar seating was full, so to get two margaritas took some time and you had to stand in between the people sitting down at the bar, which isn't ideal. You would think that they would tell you about drink promotions (such as discounted margaritas for margarita day), but they didn't and we had to find out towards the end of the meal because of a poster inside the restaurant and by that time they had already run out of the required tequila... I ordered the birria crunch wrap, a large prickly pear margarita and then had the banana tres leches and churros for dessert. The birria crunch wrap was my favourite. It had a lot of meat and cheese. The sauces they offer are also good and have varying levels of spiciness. I'd recommend the churos over the banana tres leches. The tres leches was not very moist and was kind of hard. The margarita was more on the bitter/sour side. Honestly, the birria crunch wrap was the only thing that really left an impression on me.
Had a great time at this spot! Service was quick and friendly, margaritas were tasty, and the food was top-notch. Definitely recommend giving it a try!

(also has plentyyy of veg option for fellow vegetarians)Vegetarian options: I had one of each of the tacos from the veggie lovers taco section of the menu! They were all incredible!!!

Taco Rock is absolutely amazing, considering how much lunch and dinner costs nowadays, and also the fact that I usually do not eat tacos. Tacos are only $3, and most of the "Not Tacos" are $12 or less. The beef tongue tacos are probably my favorite, along with the Barbacoa Cordero. Atmosphere is pretty relaxed with music videos shown on the television. I am so glad that California Tortilla went out of business and Taco Rock took its spot. I hope it continues to thrive.Vegetarian options: Just go to the Veggie Lovers tacos for options.
