I came across a pretty cool bistro hiding in Occoquan. The food was great and authentic. The mussels, whatever soup you may choose, are a must and of course the Belgian fries. The special dishes as well are fantastic. I had one of the latter: the crab cake. Fantastic. Cozy place and great service.

Pricey yummy bistro. Server was super nice. Feel like your in a Belgian guy's house... must've been really pricey in 2019

Very small room with pretty plain decor. Service was fine but the food wasn’t good at all. We had the Belgian fries as an appetizer and they were no better than fast food fries. The 2 entrees we got were both mediocre to bad. Even the beer was disappointing. Editing to reply to the owner's response. Grinch or not, I did very much enjoy walking through Occoquan at Christmas time with all the beautiful lights. I wish I had better things to say about the restaurant. It was recommended to us by our neighbors who did enjoy their experience there over the summer. I admit I can be picky (I am from Europe and have had the pleasure to visit Belgium a few times, which I very much enjoyed) but my husband is usually happy with most meals and even he didn't enjoy the food. Hopefully it was just an off night because I love the idea of a good Belgian restaurant close by!

Just stumbled on this place as we passed through the area. Very glad we tried it. My wife picked it because they served mussels. Not only do they serve mussels but, they have a wide variety of prepared flavors. I picked the Merguez and it was amazing. Smelled so good it brightened the entire table.
Wife got a salad with fried goat cheese and a added a crab cake. The goat cheese was amazing, it is a giant fried ball not smaller ones. The crab cake was delicious and cripsy. The crab cake could have used a sauce of some sort but was still amazing. They have Cote du Rhone by the glass or bottle. That's kind of hard to find. We'll go back if ever in the area.

Our family enjoyed a great lunch on the patio. From the pretzels and waffles to the crab cake sandwich and Mussels Provençal with pomme frites, we walked away well fed! The servers were friendly and knowledgeable about the good-sized beer menu. We will definitely be back!

Came here with my family and we rather enjoyed ourselves. Our waitress was lovely and very friendly.
The mussels were a sizeable offering though I will say I don't notice a huge flavor difference between the two options we got. The Wallon salad was fantastic, and that's coming from someone who doesn't normally order salads.
The restaurant itself is rather cozy and the outdoor patio area looks like it'd be lovely a warm evening.
My only complaint would be that a lot of beer options weren't available and that the bathroom looked like it could've maybe used a mid-day cleaning.

Popular restaurant. We ordered food but the food went to another table several times, so we were there longer than expected. The server apologized and gave us a percentage off the meal, which was minor. The shrimp were delicious and we loved the mussels. The fries, waffles and the French onion soup was okay. Parking was a bit bad, but you have to wait for a spot.

I have come here multiple times before deciding to write this and I can say without a doubt that this is the BEST restaurant in the occoquan area. The food was cooked to perfection, I recommend the Buffalo blue mussels if you enjoy a little kick while tasting a nice broth as well. The sandwiches are off the charts I love Croque Madame the sunny side up egg + the Gruyère cheese is to die for. The Coq & Bleu takes the cake for the best sandwich in the restaurant in my view, due to the blue cheese spread and sun-dried tomato pesto something about that combo that mixes so well, and let me not forget the chicken is seasoned very well. Now in regards of dinner if you are looking for a steak that isn't bland and tastes out of this world I recommend the Dry Aged Steak au Poivre, the sauce is what makes it so special, and for $32 you are getting an absolute steal. The beer selection is very authentic, so many different ones to choose from. My server was Jake he is highly skilled and quick on his feet and knows how to keep a table well fed. The owner is one of the nicest guys you will meet he has a great story behind him and the restaurant. I advise anyone who leaves a bad review to try this hidden gem again, restaurants in occoquan have an extremely small kitchen and most the time only have one cook it can be very hard to handle the rush.

I didn’t mind going upstairs to be seated since I have to walk up there to use the restroom anyway and had surgery that still limits my mobility. What got me was waiting so long (30 minutes) for a croque madam and room temp French onion soup? My mom was upset that frites weren’t seasoned and didn’t really like her petite mademoiselle. Also the lack of beschmel sauce, Je pensais que les Français aimaient leurs sauces ? Also not to mention the server saying the kitchen was closing around 3:40 when the place doesn’t close until 5 and there was a group of white old folks downstairs that were still ordering food.. felt a tad racist, since those ppl were white plus the server was white .. le racisme n'est pas juste! Use to love coming here but after this last experience.. I rather go to Del Ray cafe or the Motier for a proper French brunch next time. Là aussi où le racisme n'existe pas et où la nourriture est fraîche. Quelle honte!
