Really good food, the fruit salad they provide is the biggest, most comprehensive fruit salad weve ever had. Incredible mix of different types of fruit, not just your generic melon with grapes. The breakfast sandwich and croissant was top notch.The only issue we had was the lady at the checkout. Not sure if she was having a bad day, but she could use a class in cistomer service. Didnt even smile or respond when i said "Good morning" and also "threw" our plate down on the table in a way that hit the coffee mug and almost spilled it.I understand how frustrating dealing with tourists can be, but not all of us are jerks.

If you ever find yourself near or in Onancock, VA around lunch time you must check out this little hidden gem. I got a Cobb Salad with feta cheese and they're homemade olive oil and seasonings dressing. Amazing!My son worked here when he got his license so it's been awhile. Just as I remembered it. Yummy!

Made it for lunch on Tuesday, and had a Reuben sandwich so large that, as I “ate the whole thing,” there would be no supper for me that evening! I can see why the locals love it: it is sunny and bright, and conversations spring up readily across tables and across the room. I suppose one could ask and receive a box, but unwisely I forged on and stuffed myself. It was a classic overstuffed with good corned beef on a very successfully grilled rye with good Russian dressing and, and I’m sure there was sauerkraut in there somewhere—anyway it was too good to stop eating. And I ate the very good pickle and the bag of generic ripple potato chips and drank the rather large unsweetened iced tea—well I certainly got MY money’s worth! I don’t know if you are supposed to bus your own table, but by then I needed the exercise! So I did. THANK YOU JANET FOR HAVING SUCH A WONDERFUL PLACE!

First time eating at Janet's General store and I must say,I'm so very happy I went. It was definitely a good choice that my daughter picked .I had breakfast and boy ole boy I must say everything I had was delicious. The general store itself was warm and inviting and a very nice atmosphere. The staff was outstanding. I left there real FULL!!!I'll definitely be visiting there again really soon.
