We tried. We tried liking this place, it's local, new, and Italian. First off the atmosphere is great, service is good, staff is kind. First visit the pizza oven was down so we ordered 2 fettuccine Alfredo ($11) with added chicken ($7), the entrees were $2 off that night, we also ordered the Italian house salad ($10). The quantity of food was alot smaller than expected for all 3 items, didn't get the $2 off per entree either. The food tasted ok. We called and complained and Melanie did give us the salad for free. We read the reviews, everyone raves about the pizza we figured we'd give it a shot. 2nd night we ordered a family size Margherita Pizza and a personal meat trio pizza. Went in paid for the food, same great atmosphere, I was looking around and seen they had steps leading to a dining area on the 2nd floor and was thinking about making reservations for my wife and I, our anniversary is coming up, but I was a little dissapointed again, with the pizza this time. Got home checked them both out and it looked like they came from completely different places. The meat trio looked great, tasted good, nice crust etc.. The margherita on the other hand was nowhere near what was expected, bland is about the best way to describe it, while it did have a good crust there wasn't much to mention when it came to tomatoes or mozzarella cheese. I hope they get better, I love Italian food and the place is local, it's obvious a lot of time and money has gone into making this place nice.

We dropped in after our reservation elsewhere got screwed up. It turns out that this should have been our first choice. We ordered custum pizza and wine. The pizza was very tasty, so the locals are lucky to have them around. The wine list is better than most pizza places. If we lived here, we would be frequent diners.

I have read all the reviews and I have no idea how this restaurant has not earned 5 stars across the board in each and every one. The food, atmosphere and service are next level. I have been back twice in one week, once for lunch and again for dinner. Each visit was DYNAMITE!! I have lived all over the country and worked in an industry that often required entertaining clients at meals in NYC, LA, Chicago, D.C., Atlanta, Las Vegas, etc. This is hands down the BEST Italian cuisine I have ever eaten. If you have not been here yet… Go… You will not be sorry! La Tavola Italiano is the best restaurant on the Eastern Shore and it is not even close.

Very limited menu. Wait staff was very unenthusiastic. First attempt at pizza had a burned crust. Second pizza was undercooked. Requests for parmigiana cheese and water were unmet. The topper of the evening was when waitress told us that she accidentally switched bills and the other table paid our bill, which was $3 more than our bill. Overall, disappointing dining experience.

Unfortunately our dinner experience was not great. 2 of our choices for bottles of wine were out of stock. The fryer was down, so no wing or fried mozzarella apps. The pizza was under cooked on top. The crust was cooked perfect but the cheese and toppings were barely warm. We had to take the pizza home to finish cooking it. One server was very pleasant but the other one had an attitude. I will not be going back.

Went to enjoy some music being performed by friends. We were almost the only people in the restaurant. The place itself is beautifully ordained, a renovated old barn/storehouse.. But then we ordered food and that's where the problems began. The server was professional and polite. But it took literally an hour and a half to get our meals. I got chicken parm. The chicken was overcooked. Another patron went up to the counter to complain about how long getting their food was taking.. There didn't seem to be anyone in charge anywhere - the owner, a manager, no one - only young people, from the only server to the kitchen staff. And then came the final straw... I went to pay the bill and was not even offered a discount for our trouble.. I paid. Zero tip. I will never go to this place ever again. It's a shame really. These small eastern shore towns are all struggling. The fishery (oysters and crabs), that once supported a modest middle class lifestyle, is long gone. All that's left is tourism and Wallops Flight Facility/NASA. People speed by on 113 and US 13 to other destinations not even noticing these small, quaint towns.

Went on a Monday for lunch, quick service great food. Had the honey old bay wings that were surprisingly delicious, lasagna was good very cheesy, chicken Parm was good as well. The biscotti cheesecake was probably the best we have had in awhile. Nice quiet atmosphere, great decor inside.

The pizza is always delicious, our new go to Friday night pizza place. Can’t say anything for dining in, but carry out has always been easy and fast.
