Beautiful and well prepared meals! Lamb and chicken were wonderful!
Amazing food and cocktails
Late lunch on the wharf.
Can't beat lunch on the deck.
A fine dining experience in a setting imbued with local history and atmosphere. The desk at our hotel in Exmore recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Our dinner at Mallards provided a delicious, relaxing, and memorable evening during our visit to Onancock.
The tuna poke was probably the best meal I have ever had! So fresh and good! Thank you! Highly recommend.
Love the vintage feel. Food was fantastic, the crab cakes perfect, and the fried green tomato appetizer was delicious.
Ricotta balls good, atlantic mahi mahi was terrible. Incredibly tough and chewy, flavorless. I'm puzzled at how it could be so bad. My wife has made wild caught mahi mahi twice in her entire life, and each time it has been a flawless 10, this gets about a 2 because it didn't make me ill. The younger servers were loudly complaining about multiple tables. Service was slow. Nothing about this experience was spectacular. The ricotta balls were enjoyable.
Disappointing, did not live up to reputation. Went for lunch, ate outside on a pleasant day. Place was mostly empty. Service slow. Food order was wrong and was still charged for the extra meal that the server brought. Write the orders down next time. One meal came well after the others. Crab on one of the signature salads was mostly mayonnaise. Crab cake sandwich too salty. Hamburger was probably the worst restaurant burger I've had in a long time. Meat dried out, bun was actually stale and not edible. Ketchup never came. I know it's off season but if you are going to be open, maintain your quality for food and service?

Mallards At The Wharf offers casual dining ( outside when weather permits) with a nautical charm. The food is delicious and there are Gluten Free options on the menu. My favorite menu item is the Mallard Salad with Salmon. The staff provides courteous and efficient service. Handicap accessible parking and a ramp are available. My family enjoys dining at Mallards At The Wharf whenever we are in the Onancock area. The scenery adds to the delightful experience!

Friendly waitress but service was lacking. Food mediocre. Linguini and clams had lots of broth, minimal pasta and a LOT of shells with tiny clams.
Shrimp and salmon curry had minimal curry sauce, flavor average, seafood overcooked. We had a great meal here 2-3 years ago so this was disappointing. Great atmosphere with outdoor seating.

Our server Haley was excellent. Food was great. She was so engaging and helpful. I highly recommend and if you’re lucky you will get Haley as your server?

This place was highly recommended to us. Overlooking the water, the restaurant occupies an old general store which has maintained its atmosphere.
The staff is extremely friendly and the good is great.

Visited The restaurant 9/26. We were very disappointed with quality of food. They had no Turkey. There is no other poultry choices. The special was broiled flounder corn & crab chowder. The flounder was significantly under cooked. There did not appear to be any crab in the chowder. I was given $5.00 off the flounder. The experience did not match up to our usual visits
