We always try to time our trips up and down the eastern shore to eat at Mallards. The seafood is wonderful! Tonight we had tuna and crab cooked to perfection. The service is fast and our server

Gorgeous day, and we had the best view! Delicious homemade fish soup and the muscles were perfect in white wine & garlic butter. I wish the crab rolls had had more crab in them (I'm from Maryland:), but they were still delicious! Dining in an 1842 mercantile (later a bank) adds some nostalgia! Casual attire❤️

Went there for dinner last night with my mom as we were staying over for one night. The crabcake was phenomenal And the Smith Island Cherry cake was the best I’ve ever

I’ve had great experiences here in the past, so I was disappointed with this visit. We were one of only 3 tables seated in the restaurant, so it wasn’t busy. 2 of the 4 of us ordered Grouper, and after 5 minutes our server returned to very apologetically tell us there was only 1 serving of Grouper available. We understood and chose the meatloaf. Another 10 minutes went by, and she again returned to tell us they were out of meatloaf. So we chose short ribs. We waited a long time for the food to arrive, and when it did it was obvious that the 1 serving of Grouper given was actually Flounder. When one of us left the table to approach our server about it, the owner of the restaurant walked over and claimed that the last piece of Grouper had “accidentally” been given to another table. It was obvious that they purposely sent the Grouper to another table, and tried to pass the Flounder off as Grouper at our table hoping we wouldn’t know the difference because nothing was said. This is dishonest and bad business. The owner did comp the meal (The flounder was small and not something I would expect for the price) but did not fess up to trying to pass off Flounder as grouper. He offered to fix me something different, but everyone else had their food. I’m a local, and had brought my out of town visitor with great expectation. Our server Erica was wonderful and very apologetic about our experience. I will not be returning.

On an off and chilly night, we had the staff pretty much to ourselves. Great fish choices and casual atmosphere at reasonable prices. Tuna, chowder, crabcakes all really great.

Always great food here - everything was hot, delicious and beautifully presented. We, unfortunately, ate our meals too fast, so we didn't get a chance to take a picture. The service never disappoints either - they have a very polite and kind hostess, plus just never had a bad waiter here. Really neat place to check out! Beautiful views during the season!

Sometimes you have to go a little off the beaten track to find a well prepared crabcake, a guitar picking chef, and friendly people on a cold wintry day. Try Mallard's.
