Sunday we took the short drive over Peter’s Mountain into Virginia for supper at the Swinging Bridge in Paint Bank.
Old-school place — Fiesta Ware on the tables, fried chicken, mac & cheese, coleslaw, and hot peach cobbler.

This is really a special place to take friends and family. It is peaceful, beautiful drive to get there and their food is very well prepared. The service is fast and very friendly from the staff. The large fireplace is so warm and inviting and the gifts in the gift shop so unique.
This is a very unique place. It's a cross between a Cracker Barrel, a diner and a Holiday shop all within a log cabin interior. There is a lot of taxidermy, including a little Buffalo. The upstairs store is worth checking out and the food is good and plentiful. The bathrooms are a bit challenging but still usable (think older gas station bathroom).
