My husband and I had our anniversary trip here and it was wonderful! I am a big "Dirty Dancing" the movie fan and have been wanting to visit for a long time. It is a beautiful place and I love that there are markers to show you where scenes of the movie took place. Our room was beautiful as well and so comfy! The entire place was beautiful. The entire staff from check in to restaurant workers were so kind and helpful. I cant wait to go back!
really nice place to hang out! we got the spinach artichoke dip and thats always good but they serve with potato chips (still okay tho) Our bartender made a specific drink for me (im really picky with it) and he was SUPER cool about it! made it really worth it!
shoutout to our bartender Ashton! thank you for being sooo understanding!

While we didn’t eat here we should have. The experience we had upstairs in harvest was horrible. We stumbled upon this after we had done the self guided tour and were awaiting our gator excursion. Our bartender, can’t remember her name (red head) was amazing. She was friendly and personable. She kept us entertained. The views are so nice from the bar down below or the patio below. I am not sure if they had an upper deck but I think they did?? They’re not part of the hotel so they have their separate cook and management. We liked that option. It was so cool sitting there having a drink looking out at baby’s cabin and the lake in the distance. What a very relaxing time. Thank you.

Pizzas were gross. My group got five different pizzas and it was obvious that they were all made from the same frozen crust with different toppings. None of them were good and they’re SO overpriced. Views and ambience are nice though.

Second trip with my sisters and mom. We had the time of our lives together here. Staff is so friendly and welcoming. We always feel like we are getting VIP treatment. Highly recommend visiting.
Moutain Lake offers a unique experience the no other venue in the NRV offers.
Service at the pun totally sucked. We drove 2 hours for the music, pub fare and drinks. The bar attendant ignored us and others to specifically wait on specific cliientelle. We left after 30 minutes. Waste of time and we are disgusted.

The pizza wasn’t bad and the salad was good but a little weird they used balsamic glaze instead of balsamic dressing, it was super thick lol. Staff was very friendly and we got to bring our dog!

Brunch with Santa was a real disappointment. We booked well in advance and even arrived early. Unfortunately Santa left before we finished our brunch and had the opportunity to visit with him. Given the high price and the focus on Brunch WITH Santa, it was frustrating that there was really no real attempt to address the situation, besides providing Santa’s phone number to try to reach him ourselves. A really disappointing experience- especially for our children.

We stayed there this weekend for our anniversary. We enjoyed our stay for the most part. Unfortunately it was cold & blustery which made it hard to be outside for to long. They are currently having their Christmas village with other out activities. The amount of money we paid for the weekend was overpriced for what we got. The food as it was good, again it was overpriced. If you happen to stay in the lodge, make sure you take stuff to keep you entertained, as many rooms don’t have a tv & if you want a hot shower, the morning was a better choice, as we had Luke warm water at night to shower. You’re paying the higher price, simply because the movie had SOME parts filmed there. Maybe a stay in the warmer months would be better, but I would make sure it’s not in the dead of summer or make sure that the room you choose has ac!
Had reservations for my nephew’s weeding this coming week (12/7). Developed pancreatitis requiring surgery this past week. Called to cancel the reservation and was told, yes they can cancel, but they would not refund my money, which was required totally in advance. Yes, their policy is no refunds after two weeks before your stay, but this seems somewhat rigid. Their suggestion was to either reschedule or find another family member to make use of the reservation. Not very helpful or friendly.
I wanted to take a moment to send Rave Reviews for our stay and catering event at Mountain Lake Lodge. Aleta helped us with everything for a fabulous Saturday nite Graduation dinner and then when we found out our lodging was cancelled at another discredited business - Aleta jumped into action and secured rooms for my family of 20 to have places to sleep. Mountain Lake Lodge not only saved the day but made it Magical. Any Virginia Tech families should seriously consider Mountain lake lodge as their first choice for family time.
Pizza and atmosphere are fantastic!
The gluten free pizza was amazing!! The blend of old stonework walls of the hotel and the new metal patio extension above is beautiful. We had a wonderful evening enjoying the view.
