“My husband and I had our anniversary trip here and it was wonderful! I am a big "Dirty Dancing" the movie fan and have been wanting to visit for a long time. It is a beautiful place and I love that there are markers to show you where scenes of the movie took place. Our room was beautiful as well and so comfy! The entire place was beautiful. The entire staff from check in to restaurant workers were so kind and helpful. I cant wait to go back!”

Aleta helped us with everything for a fabulous Saturday nite Graduation dinner and then when we found out our lodging was cancelled at another discredited business - Aleta jumped into action and secured rooms for my family of 20 to have places to sleep. Mountain Lake Lodge not only saved the day but made it Magical. Any Virginia Tech families should seriously consider Mountain lake lodge as their first choice for family time.”

“Although it's more of a deli than a bakery now, I'd actually prefer to call it a country store. But it was the PERFECT stop on our way home from Mountain Lake Lodge for breakfast sandwiches, snacks, and one of the most delicious cookies I've ever eaten.”

“Melissa and her staff always bring a smile. If you are a regular, she knows your order before you have a chance to tell her. Not sure what to order? Their suggestions are spot on. I love the type of ice she uses as it holds up to the summer heat. I've had some sno-cones with a different texture of ice, maybe "more shaved" if that is a thing and I had all syrup in no time. Love the variety of flavors and suggested combos! Two thumbs up!!”

“This is where you'd go for a quick lunch buffet. Local factory workers and blue collar frequent it. Salad bar, pizza bar and dessert pizza. The building looks rough, but it seems clean. The waitress is the star of this establishment, on a rough day you can drag in there and she makes sure you're quickly taken care of and happy.”

I come through the area frequently, stop for lunch or breakfast depending when I’m around, and this McDonald’s is consistently the fastest and freshest food. Can’t actually think of any other McDonald’s location I’ve ate at that is comparable. So I guess it is the best!”
