We went to a cocktail making event tonight at the Bad Apple and had a marvelous time. Thank you to the great hosts! If you are invited to an event at the Bad Apple I suggest you go … and have a great time! ?

We are so sad this place is now event only, our favorite date night spot.

The Bad Apple completely exceeded our expectations, and they were already pretty high! The venue is absolutely stunning, the food is DIVINE, the cocktails are outstanding, and the staff? *chefs kiss.* They really round out the entire experience -- they're attentive and warm without being overbearing. We recommend the prime rib bruschetta (and complimentary homemade cornbread), filet, and j*** chicken. If they have the crème brûlée on the dessert menu, GET IT. The old fashioned and whiskey sour were a hit, too. We will absolutely be back, we're already scoping out the menu for what to try next!! Do yourself a favor and make the reservation!

What a surprise !! This restaurant is one of the best all around dining experiences we have had in quite a while. Tucked back away from US route 460, on a knoll down a dirt road, you come to an unmarked barn, thinking you must be dreaming. Inside you find the re-creation of a speakeasy. Wait staff is friendly, prompt, and each of the wait staff has a name, ours was Crazy Kat. Drinks and food are locally sourced for the most part and are just superb. I had filet mignon, grits, asparagus, all done to perfection. If you are near Virginia Tech or just passing through, it is most definitely worth the visit. Reservations required.

I can only share my experience my one time experience on a busy weekend, with a fixed menu.First off - Staff was INCREDIBLE. They easily handled our 15 person party on VA Tech graduation weekend. We had multiple changes to our res, and they were super sweet to our group, including 2 under 10.Food? Meh. It was tasty. A fixed-ish 4 course menu is never a chef's place to shine. It was a solid meal. Now, worth the $60 per head? Probably not.Cocktails? Ok, tended a bit sweetVenue? Cool. With cows.Location? Easy drive out from Blacksburg, but gravel road for the last mile which was a little rough for us city folk in a sedan.

Having eaten at the Bad Apple 3 or 4 times prior to this visit and was delighted I thought it the perfect place to celebrate a VT graduation but was I so wrong ! The $60 pre fixe menu price seemed fair enough because of the previous experiences, however, the rib-eye steak was very fatty (I do know that this cut of meat is fattier, however, this was over the top), the prosciutto crostini should have been characterized as petite, had no taste and was dry and the cheesecake should have been characterized as a sliver though it was very good -- I did not have my wits about me as I should have sent the ribeye back to the kitchen -

We had a Vtech graduation dinner at Bad Apple and I can't emphasize how perfect it was. The drinks, dinner and dessert were so yummy. I highly recommend this restaurant. Peanut and her staff were great and very accommodating.

We waited a long time for our food. When the food finally arrived it was so cold we couldn't eat it. The meat was not cooked. The whole meal was awful. When the manager come to the table she was very rude. Did not even apologize. Furthermore we had to pay full menu price for something that was cold and the pork was not even cooked all the way through. I will not come back or recommend this establishment to anyone else ?.

We were celebrating a couple of significant accomplishments. Drinks were spectacular, dinners were delicious, wines perfect the complement. Desserts decadent. Canary spoiled us with her attentiveness, without being intrusive. BTW- the tenderloin bruschetta will change your life.

I need to see the menu again to properly name the photos posted but you get the idea. Stayed at the Mountain Lodge (10 minutes away) and ventured out for a unique dinner. This cute place is an old barn made into an adorable speakeasy with lift (elevator). The signs from the road are hard to see so don't relay on signs to direct you, just follow the GPS to what seems like private farm land property and you're in the right spot. Ok for the decor and theme 5x5stars, really nice and so are the waitstaff with their all back attire and simple hair period appropriate hair piece, with speakeasy names, cute and classic!Service is awesome and so are the drinks. I had the spicy margarita, although it was missing the spice it was a good margarita anyway. Food was also a solid 4 stars good. You get corn bread with your meal that's nice and fluffy as well. There is not a dress code but since this barn speakeasy in the middle of a rolling farm land is so unique I'd recommend making it a special night with clothing that makes you feel pretty and enjoy the perfect date night spot.

This was a special event-- and more expensive than a regular meal. Wine pairing of 6 wines and 7 courses (the last course was paired with a sangria).
