El Caporal Mexican Restaurant Dinwiddie

I called in on a Friday (which the lady i spoke to said it was plenty of time) to inquire about the price of a pan of rice for a party. After getting prices I agreed to the order and she took down my name and number for pick on Sunday at 1:30pm. I send my father to pick up the rice and they said they had no record of my order. I call and they said im sorry we will prepare it for you. I then made sure. One 9x13 pan of rice they said yes. I send my father back down there. He comes back with a single serving of rice, he said this is what they gave me. Which is not what I asked for. Communication was terrible. I will not be ordering from this location again. I had to serve a single serving of rice to a party of 30+ people.

This is near our house and our go to for Mexican food. It is always consistently good with great prices. The staff and owners are awesome.

Always good food, fast service and staff greets and talks to you in a very friendly manner,

Not sure what has happen to the food at this place it was always great and had been going there for years but it has been going downhill this past year. Ate there on Saturday and was so disappointed. We have decided to try out some new Mexican restaurants since the food has gone downhill. Even the salsa taste watered down.

The flavor has changed in recent months. Not a bad flavor but different from what it used to be. My most recent visit (take out) was disappointing. My order was missing a chip/dip combo which I was charged for and will follow up to resolve. My request for salsa on the side was not followed and the taco salad had chicken and beef, it was supposed to be beef only. Unfortunately, El Cap is not what it used to be.

Stopped in on our way down to NC and lunch was great. The lunch specials were reasonably priced and the nachos de jefe were extremely good. The detail on the hard cooked carnitas and grilled jalapeños ready set them apart.
