My parents used to take my sister and I here weekly when we were little. We would sit at the counter and watch them chop up the roasted pork and mix it with BBQ sauce for the pulled pork sandwiches. I still remember the taste of the hush puppies cut in half with butter all over them. Nothing but wonderful memories of this place.

When I was 5 old..years cica 1970.. visiting my grandmother for the summer..she took us 3 kids here .this is where I fell in love with BBQ and had my 1st piece of apple pie..BBQ and apple pie..the love affair continues to this day..am 60 now..but Kings was king..sorry your closed..thanks for the memories and the 1st time

They finely chop the meat, but there’s only one option for BBQ sauce, which is their homemade vinegar-based sauce, and I don't find it appealing. When I requested a change to my order because I didn't like something, they refused to accommodate me. It's unreasonable to make someone eat or pay for food they don’t like. I had to talk to three different people to get my order changed, which reflects poor customer service.

We used to come there all the time when we lived in Petersburg until 1981. I am so sad to see that they have closed. No where can I get the flavor of Kings ! We now live in New York and I actually have been craving that Kings Flavor. I can still remember the flavors so vividly. I am forever grateful for the experience and the most wonderful taste and memories. Hoping to see you in NY. These people do not know what real BBQ IS !
It's pretty good food here. When it was open all the time, we used to stop by and grab a BBQ sandwich with some hushpuppies on the way home.

The food here is incredibly good, and it's the only place I'll eat BBQ from. The staff is great and they always get my order right. I'm hoping that they open up again soon so I can take my husband here and have him try it for the first time because this was THE spot for me and my family to eat out.
