My mom has a gluten allergy and got extremely ill after eating what was supposed to be a gluten free meal from here.
Went there with the family, will definitely be going back.

Friendly staff and timely service. My husband and I were given generous portions and we both liked the food.
The menu had various choices but it wasn't overwhelming.

The service given by Abby G. was outstanding. It has been a long time since we have had service this great. We never had to ask for anything. She anticipated everything that we needed and brought it without asking. Our drinks were never empty. In line with her service, we found Abby B. made some of the best drinks of the day that one person in our party had. Both ladies were very personable.

The food was impeccable, and the service was even better! Our server, Emma B., was fantastic—very personable and attentive. She truly elevated the entire experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Came in for a quick bite. The place is clean with cool decor. The food was good and the service was as well.
I'd suggest only two things. The host greet with a smile with the same enthusiasm as she did when she said bye. And for the kitchen staff not to hang in the parking lot.
I’ll start off by saying the drinks here are very good. Abby is a highly skilled bartender. The Coco Loco (I think that was the name) tasted like a Bahama mama, and was the perfect strength. The food was ok. We got the boom boom shrimp as an appetizer, it was loaded in sauce. Way too much sauce, the shrimp was good though. I will absolutely be trying the souvlaki sticks next time. I made the mistake of ordering a pizza, and it wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t get one again from here. We sat down about 1.5 hours before close and about 30 minutes before close, we were getting rushed out by our waitress, while there were still plenty people dining inside and a few outside. Would not recommend sitting outside, the bugs were awful, they have tiki torches which may help but they were not working. I will be back, sitting inside, and not getting pizza again! Overall a good experience and the inside of the restaurant has a nice design.
Schooner's in Poquoson had the worst food husband and I have ever eaten at a restaurant. We ordered the fried Seafood Feast and the Mediterranean Platter to share. The fish was overcooked and seemed to have no seasoning. Shrimp was also overcooked to the point of being rubbery. The crab cakes were so salty that I had to discreetly spit it out on my napkin. On the Mediterranean, the Greek gyro meat was very dry and overcooked as well and was under seasoned. Both the cole slaw and mashed potatoes were very bland. Basically the food was overcooked, and was either very salty or very bland.
But we did enjoy the Greek salad and the onion rings.
Perhaps Schooner's specialize in burgers and sandwiches and we ordered foods that the cooks were not familiar cooking?? I don't know, but we plan to never go back.

Ordered steak bites & wings with sweet potato fries. Food was tasty but bit on the salty side.
Drunk parents encouraging their wild children to play tag on the porch & jump on tables & chairs!!!! Management did not bat an eye!!!
Ordered online. Said it would be ready in 45 mins. Got there after 35 mins. Husband waited for 20 mims before I went in. Hostess apologized for the wait & said they were busy. I'm okay with waiting because they were busy, but then I watched a family of four be seated, order and get their food before we got the order we placed more than an hour and a half before then. If you forgot our order, just say so and do something to make it right. Instead we discovered we were missing 3 sides, which I did not call about, didn't care to wait another almost 2 hours. What we got tasted fine, but the service was not good.
We're very disappointed with our visit this evening, 26 Feb, 6pm. When we arrived we were greeted and seated right away. After sitting for awhile with no acknowledgement by the wait staff and witnessing three other groups being seated and served without anyone acknowledging our presence we got up and left. We'll definitely think twice before coming to Schooners again.
