Great BBQ place. I got the beef brisket for a party and it was big hit! The staff were friendly and welcoming. Good price for what's on the menu as well. Would highly recommend.

I have been a loyal customer for years. I use to eat at the location in Carlton a lot. I was so happy when they opened on in Portsmouth. I have never had a bad meal from there since they opened, until tonight. I order almost 100$ worth of food and was very disappointed. Started off with the quesadilla I ordered for my daughter. I asked for a plane one with just cheese. Nothing spicy! Told them to use just American or cheddar. They put on some kind of jalapeño cheese that burned my 9 year old mouth. I ordered a platter with 4 meats. The brisket was cut so thin and cooked or seared on a flat top or something. It was like jerky. The ribs were so fatty is was like someone took the fat cap off pork belly and stuffed rib bones in it. The pulled pork was so dry and over cooked, it looked like a pile of shredded twigs on my plate. The sausage was ok. The sides weren’t what I expected. Not as good as usual. The best part of the whole meal was the chicken and dumplings, probably the best I have ever had. Being chef for the last 30’years I have never had bbq that bad. And I never expected to have bad bbq from bubba and Franks.
The taquitos are a joke. There's hardly any meat inside.

First time visiting, warm greeting upon entry. Decor was nice and place was very clean. Nice to see locals enjoying lunch. Nice menu selections, the Memphis BBQ was good and the fried okra simply perfect. Nice place, I will be back to try more.

My dad and I came here and we got burgers and they were very juicy and tasted like real hamburger not frozen meat. We came back and I got the ribs, and oh my they were beyond delicious. He got a BBQ sandwich, the NC flavor. He said it was very good. The owners came out and introduced themselves. Very inviting place. One of our favorite places. ??
The barbque was ok. Pulled st Louis style. The onion rings were overcooked and soaked with grease. I have been sick with indigestion all afternoon. He got tuff greasy chicken tenders with sweet potato fries. They were covered in sugar! He is diabetic, so they went in the trash. Cole slaw was good. We won't be back.
