We were sitted right away but we had a party of 15 and only one server. The server was very friendly and ultimately got everyone taken care of. It took about 1 1/2 hours. For a Friday night, they were very short staffed, only 2 waitresses and 1 bartender. The food made up for the wait. It was the saving grace. No matter what was ordered by the group, and it was a variety of dishes, there were no complaints on the taste of the food. If you want great food, and don't mind the wait, this is the place to go. Of course, smaller groups got served faster.

The food was absolutely delicious! We will def be coming back again and again! Our server was attentive and so sweet to us. I ordered grilled turkey chops with collards and mashed potatoes, onions and gravy. My husband ordered fried turkey chops with potatoe salad, and string beans. He also ordered liver, rice, onions and gravy. Y'all have to stop by and try their food! You won't be disappointed!

If I could do half of a star, I would. The service is nonexistent.. No host , just a bartender with no customer service experience I have no idea where they found their staff but they need to reevaluate. lIl never return, recommend, or remember this place. 0.5/5 because the music was okay. Please have someone fix the waitresses wigs cuz they won't serving :/

GHETTO AS HELL. We came to this establishment in Portsmouth, VA to celebrate my mother’s birthday with our family. It was 5 of us. They gave us a table in the back of the restaurant that was very tight so my father asked for another table (NO BIG DEAL) so after waiting a few moments and looking at many tables that could sit us after being cleaned I asked the server very politely if she could give me an approximate time a table would be ready. She told me my dad turned down the table they gave us and that she we would have to wait until whenever another table would be cleaned (no cares were given but again it was no big deal) so my dad could tell they were not trying to help us so said we could just go. As we’re leaving this lady started talking shi saying she can’t make nobody get up blah blah. So it ended up being a debate because we didn’t say anything rude. This place is GHETTO AS HELL. Attitude from staff is nasty for no reason. So glad we spent our money else where.

This the same location the District was in and honestly the menu doesn't seem much different. I tried them out for restaurant week so starter, meal and dessert $30. Crab cake starter is was it was meat not filler so that is a plus. 4 wings with 3 sides I did appreciate the 3 sides as the options, tried the Mac and cheese, yams and greens. All ok, the wings a tad salty but they so small how could one not over salt them? Dessert was the sweat potato pie nothing to scream about.
