cake taste old to me. use to be good but idk if they are keeping it longer now or have a new baker or what. you can smell the grease as soon as you walk through the front door. its over powering and the smell gets on your clothes.

Food wasn't warm , very small portions, new teAm from registor to the back cleaned up well the inside , disappointment. Never goin back. . Veggies didn't have. Business is Horrible

I ordered a peach cobbler on Thursday for a father's day cookout at 4 pm on Saturday. Asked for it to be ready at 3:30 p.m. The cost with tax was over $100. So we get up there at 4 p.m. and informed that it is not ready. The lady who was to prepare it made a comment that it will be ready tomorrow morning. Thank you Lord for keeping flesh at bay. That comment did nothing for the fact that we now have no dessert. Wanted something besides cake and cupcakes. Trying to support our own.

Idk who in the right mind ever thought this was quality or good soul food. The Mac n cheese looks & tastes like it’s been sitting for a week, the collards were bland like just boiled in water and served, the potato salad has zero flavor, the yams were alright. The chicken is alright. I’m white & I cook better than this. I’m so mad I wasted $26 on this food. I took a bite of everything and got disappointed. Even the cornbread tastes like jiffy straight out the box, not made with seasonings, not made with love & DEFINITELY NOT MADE WITH SOUL!

How do you sell soul food and don't have any to sale??? No turkey wings or collard greens today and they only sale ribs on Sunday. Make it make sense

So I got meatloaf, cabbage and macaroni and cheese. This is my first time having it the first time it was very very good which made me want to go back again, but this time I went back the Mac was nasty. The cabbage taste like water in my meatloaf is literally floating in oil like it gave me a stomach ache And I know they make good food so I’m confused about why my order looks like this

They need to tell people to wait in their cars so there's not lot people in the small building

1/3/2025 picked up 2 wing dinners on the way home. Chicken was as old as I am.They stated they were just reopening from the holidays. The only sides they had was rice and mac and cheese. The chicken looked and taste like they froze it from Christmas and re dropped it in oil.It was so nasty we ended up throwing it in the trash.We live in Suffolk but work in Portsmouth. If we still lived in Portsmouth we would have definitely returned it. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE GO TO TAKE A PLATE. Very disappointing they definitely lost OUR BUSINESS.

I'm visiting from NC and wanted some soul food. This place was suggested, and the food was fresh and seasoned very well. Customer service was good. You get your money worth if I am ever in the area. I will be stopping by.
