Hard to catch them when they’re open since they don’t update their hours on Google. I placed an order online only to find out when I got here that the place was closed at 12pm. I would call to make sure they’re actually open before you waste time driving.

You'll miss it if you aren't looking hard enough! But man... the Custer service is AMAZING! The lady behind the counter answered all our question and was very welcoming! The flavors they have available you can top your wings or shrimp. And they have the most original flavors I've ever seen! One of my all time favorite combinations is MAPLE- and BACON- and ...yes they have that as a topping! I thought it was crazy! But I went with the suggestion and OMG! Who would have thought Maple Bacon shrimp would be so good! The menu has a lot to offer- wings, shrimp, fried fish, crab cakes, lobster Mac and cheese (which my Navy son absolutely loves) - for the amount of food you get it is well worth it! I paid 19.99$ for my meal 2 large pieces of fried fish, 4 shrimp (whatever sauce you want) and 2 sides. For me - that's enough for two meals or as usual one meal and my son eats the rest. You can taste the love in the food - it's homemade - (atleast what we had) Looking forward to going back and trying the crab cakes and other sides. They are open 11am-7 pm- please for the love of all things- don't go in last minute and be a jerk! The poor lady at the counter said it's always the LAST customers that come in expecting food to be FAST and then complain ... don't be rude! Lol just enjoy the food and remember it takes time to make good fresh food!

M Rae's is one of our favorite takeout locations in the Portsmouth/ Chesapeake area of Hampton Roads. This Black Owned small business has really good wings, amazing seafood, & great desserts as well. We really enjoyed the "Gold Dust", "Bang Bang", & Rae's Wing. Thier Mac & Cheese is really really good as well. For dessert, I recommend "the Animal Cracker Cheesecake". It was delicious. Aside from the delicious food, the customer service is absolutely amazing & that includes the owner as well. She's very polite, professional, friendly, & makes it clear that she appreciates your business & support. This is an amazing way to have a take out date night while also supporting a Local Black Owned Business as well. Give them a try.

I loveee this place. Everyone is so sweet and nurturing, I felt at home as soon as I walked in! Food was 10/10. I got the maple bacon wings with seasoned waffle fries & my mom got the fish dinner w/Mac and cheese and string beans. Mama Rae let us sample her collards and I nearly cried because they reminded us of my grandmother’s. She is the sweetest and humblest woman ever !! Highly recommended.Parking: Good amount of parking spots considering it’s a small plaza
