I've been going here since I've been in High School when it was called Ray's Dog House. I'm glad to say it's still one of the best places in Portsmouth to get a good hot dog. The prices are very good and the workers are very friendly, making sure I'm greeted and served as fast as possible

Adding a good bean soup would be a welcomed addition to the menu. Have bean soup as an everyday option instead of fries. Bean soup goes good with hot dogs.

I think it would have been a good experience if not for some fundamental problems with execution, seems like they needed to refine their system and get a few more employees to get things running smoothly.

Its nice to see a local HotDog shop in the area 👍 Chili was bland, needs some more flavor vs just out of a can. All beef coney dogs are decent. Fries are good. Need to offer traditional big city style dogs to interest the customer. NY, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, etc. Its cook to order, service was great but slow.. to be expected.
I was pretty upset because they made it impossible for me to place a to go order by phone. I called and someone answered, I told them I wanted to place an order and she said okay we'll hang on a second then she walked off. I then waited on hold for 8 minutes before I finally hung up. I tried calling back over 20 times over the next 10 minutes and everytime the call immediately went to voicemail and said the line was busy. I would've been a customer... now I'm not. Went to bubba n franks instead.

The food is amazing !!! This spot is a hidden gem for sure. Very warm welcoming crew that make the experience even better. You feel like you’re over at your favorite aunt & uncles house. Love it and highly recommend it. I got the beef dogs with chili and slaw and they were so good! And the she crab soup is SENSATIONAL ❤️🔥
