I love the cozy atmosphere here. We never feel hurried when we stop in for some wine and small plates.Don’t know what you want? The capable staff can easily steer you to a lovely selection, whether wine or eats. There’s a woman’s touch here. You feel it in the service, the artsy decor, the relaxed feel.

Walked in, asked to see a menu. “We don’t have a menu, just tell me what you want”. The bar tender didn’t even ask if I wanted a food menu or drink menu. I would have assumed they didn’t have food until I saw someone cooking in the back. I will never step foot in the place again!

Nice little hidden gem nestled in the heart of downtown Portsmouth. The interior Is straight vibes, very modern, and quiet dark. You will definitely need your phone flashlight to read the handwritten menu. The wines were spectacular, the staff was frkendly but Stellar can improve in the food area. What makes a great wine bar in My opinion is the wine, vibes of the establishment, and food. The food they offer needs to compliment the wine they are serving. The only thing I was really interested in on the menu was the cheeseboard. Everything else seemed out of place or relayed to me by the staff out of stock. The cheeseboard was also very Mediocre. The meat tasted like someone warmed it up in the microwave and was hard, a few of my breads were stale. The presentation was beautiful however it just missed the mark.

Everything aside from the interior was disappointing. The food if you want to call it that... I could've bought better charcuterie from a grocery store. Dishes and glass wear were filthy. FLYS NON STOP buzzing all around us for and its an indoor spot???? Waited on by someone who'd rather chit chat with I'm assuming were friends then work. Aside from them it was a ghost town and now I know why. Annoyed I wasted money here.

Had a great time at Stellar Wine Co. The atmosphere is very small and intimate, but the music played by DJ Peep, set and maintained the vibe for the whole night. The wine and charcuterie board were great together and we can't wait to go there again!

I was really hungry and the kitchen was not open yet. Did not matter, she took care of me as if I were her sister. The chicken salad croissant was very tasty.

This place was an absolute gem! Warm inviting great music great people..we stumbled across Stellar Wine Co just walking looking to have a good time after leaving a disappointing party..it was 8 of us and we fell into the right place and our evening was salvaged. The food the ambience the space the wine was all perfect and the owner was so humble & appreciative of us stopping in and friendly even while working hard to take care of patrons..an easy light good time..no riftraft or drama just smooth good people. we all had a blast and have already decided to make it a favorite place

FINALLY got a date night with my husband and we were excited to try this place. Charcuterie, tapas and wine is a favorite of ours. We drove 35 minutes to get here and it was a complete waste of time. We walked in and stood awkwardly at the door trying to figure out if we seated ourselves or were to be sat down. A lot of the small countertop tables said Reserved. There was a guy loudly setting up for a live band situation so I'm assuming thats why the tables were reserved? Idk. We finally just walked in and sat at the bar. We sat there for a good 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we had stepped foot in the place. No "Hey! How are ya?! We will be with you in a minute! Welcome!" Nothing..... The bartender finally came over and asked us if we liked red or white. We said red. She offered a sample of a red she recommended...in the filthiest glass I've ever seen. It had lipstick marks all around the edge. Blech. She poured a small tasting in another (clean) glass and the wine was great. We decided to go with her recommendation. She poured both of us a very small glass and walked away. We sat there drinking our wine and having conversation with one another. It was a little hard to do with the random music playing off of her phone...that was charging on the counter...hooked up to a speaker...and the band setting up behind us. But hey! We were kid free and this was less noisy than our house! We finally got her attention to see if we could order food. We were also out of wine. We asked if we could see a menu. She brought out a handwritten menu and explained what was available. The menu was just items written down. No explanation on it. She said it changes weekly so I can understand that. We decided to start with a combo charcuterie board. Cant really go wrong with that. We were going to start with that and order more. So we place the order and asked for a refill and waited...and waited. And waited some more. And waited some more. We never got a refill, never got acknowledged that we needed a refill and our food never appeared. The bartender kept walking past us to move glasses and bottles back and forth from one area and then back. It was weird. She did seem attentive to the ONE other party of 4 that was in there. This place was not busy whatsoever. Finally my husband got her attention and asked about our food order. Shes all oh it should be right out. Its almost done. Maam. MAAM. Its some meat. Its some cheese. MAYBE a fruit or two. Maybe a couple olives if were lucky. Its been 35 minutes. Thirty five minutes to throw some items on a board. Cmon now! Frustrated and starving we politely canceled our order. Since it hadn't been made yet I didn't feel bad doing that. She walks to the back to tell the girl working there (who by the way STILL HADNT started preparing a thing) and the girl in the back whipped around and gave us THE dirtiest look I've ever seen. We had a direct view into the kitchen from the bar top as theres nothing closing it off. It was one girl standing back there doing Lord knows what. Sorry maam. An hour for a cheese board aint where I'm at in life. We're paying the sitter by the hour lol. We got the check. $13 a glass for 2 very small glasses of wine. Laughable but whatever. Ive been served more at a winery tasting. Ridiculous. Also...This place looks nothing like the photos. It's reminiscent of a dive bar that wants to be a wine bar. Everything looks old and run down and cheap. Don't waste your time...and you will...or your money. We left and went to Glass Light in Norfolk where we GLADLY paid $200 for an amazing meal and a $70 bottle of wine.

Great little wine bar in the heart of Portsmouth. The ladies were really friendly and nice; and most importantly, they have great wine!

One of the best evenings I've had in a really long time. Wine was wonderful, food was on point, but the vibe was the thing that is incomparable. Vinyl dj Bernard was so entertaining!. Mandy was so welcoming and set us up with great wines. All the patrons were friendly and chatted with us. Couldn't ask for better.

On my recent visit home to Portsmouth I was looking for something that included wine and good music. Stellar Wine Co. was it.The space is perfect. Not too big or too small but just right for what I had in mind for a Thursday evening. The wine selection was amazing and so was the art displayed throughout the space. I can’t wait to visit again so that I can grab a seat, chill with a nice glass and listen to some great music. It’s definitely for grown ups who have an appreciation for good wine and a relaxed environment.
