Went to "Cocktails and Candle Making" event here. Absolutely lovely place. We had the opportunity to choose our fragrance out of many scents for our candles. The candles turned out fragrant and very pretty. Meanwhile, there were cocktails, fun and stimulating conversation, with live music. Unfortunately, at this time there are no food sells, but it's a great place for your book club to meet up, to hang out for cocktails, music, finding your favorite scent, and socializing.

I had the awesome and joyful experience of visiting THE BOOK CLUB On High St. IT WAS TRULY "A VIBE". WHEN I informed the owners that I was interested in coming to celebrate my birthday and enjoy a candle making class. When I arrived my seat was centered, my glass candle container was beautifully decorated with my name. My friend Desi and I took a walk through...so beautiful..books, candles, oil fragrance selections, books, food and wines .yummy desserts. Robert was very informative about the candle making process and offers classes throughout the Hampton Roads area. His lovely wife Tee made sure that we had all that we needed and that we were pleased with everything. They also have a history lesson on the process and also their journey as Robert stepped out on faith and opened the business and the amazing support from his wife as the do this together. I went back when they offered a Chef who had great vegetarian options and knowledge of clean eating . I truly recommend this establishment for entertainment, jazz, adult fun night, author signing..fun and if course candle making. If I could give 19 Stars,,I definitely would. Thank you Robert and Tee Waverly for one of the best birthdays ever . Love you all, Tracy

This place is exactly what I didn't know I wanted in my life!This is a hidden treasure in Portsmouth. Don't tell to many people because I want to keep it to myself. They have one of my favorite beers on tap (1865 Brew co), candle making, great wine, BEER, music, oh did I mention books! The atmosphere is outstanding. I'll post more pictures on my next visit but I was blown away.
