So... ok. To go IN the restaurant, you have to be patted down by Security; this even to order items "to-go." I've never encountered anything like this before, simply to get some food. "The Corner" could also be missed entirely, if you didn't know where you're going. It's VERY unassuming, especially as a restaurant. The entire inside is painted Black. There are no windows. There are secured "swings" to sit on, at the bar. I ordered the "Lemon Pepper" Lamb Chops, Macaroni & Cheese, and String Beans; to go. Lamb LOLLIPOP chops - Let's be clear... these are not "chops," they are LOLLIPOPS. The seasoning, was definitely on point. The flavor profile, albeit familiar, was definitely unique once the lamb flavor hit. I recommend. Macaroni & Cheese - I find NO FAULT; delicious. Cheesy. Tasty. I recommend. String beans - Canned. There was definitely some added seasoning. I didn't like it at all; my mother did though; she's 95, so... her opinion wins. "I recommend."Honestly... albeit the staff, even Security were really nice, this place isn't for everyone. It's unfortunate, really unfortunate, that their response to the reputation of "Portsmouth," forces them to have Security, "Pat you down," to order "Take-out." This for me personally, isn't an ideal dining experience; regardless how good the food is.Call. Order. Wait in your (locked) car. Pick-up to go would be my recommendation.

Food is great. As well as the atmosphere. The only part I dislike is that they allow smoking inside. It leaves a nasty scent in my clothes and my hair and that’s not hot.

Okay happy hour from 5 to 8. Tamika is an awesome bartender. We had so much fun celebrating my sister 60th birthday. The food is delicious. Especially those lemon pepper wings and collard greens. I had so much fun my first night in Virgina since October. They don't party like this in michigan. Nice after work spot.

I read all the bad reviews and came in despite it because I loved the pictures. BELIEVE the reviews. This place has horrible service. I sat at the bar maybe 20 minutes and was completely ignored by both bartenders. Like literally looking at me and talking to everyone around me. The atmosphere of the place seemed okay. Everyone sitting around looked happy but I believe that’s because they’re used to the service. It’s sad because I was just about to recommend it to someone just off the atmosphere but I would hate for them to come and be ignored as well. SMH.

My food was excellent the first time and the service also, plenty full amount of food couldnt stop talking about this place but last night was not it. My food was horrible they gave me a very smalll portion the service was awful...I want a refund!!
