Had to delete an old review of this place to recreate an accurate one . The staff here epitomizes one thing and that's incompetence. Yesterday my wife and I went in, we sat at the bar and they were busy so we weren't rushing them. Then 20 mins later we still hadn't gotten a server, and 3-4 tables who had sat down after us had all already been served, yet we couldn't even get an order taken. Only one employee even acknowledged our existence in the place and that was to wipe the bar in front of us and tell us, "I'm covering down for the other seats at the counter, not you guys" when we asked for coffee and water.Do not go in this place. Go to any of the other local locations, or completely different restaurants, wherever, any where but this waffle house.

I order to go I didn't like the fact you guys take 20 percent of the order. I order the tmTexas toast burger with hashbrowns. I ask for onions and cheese in the hashnrowns plus extra onion l. I didn't have mot 1 onion in my hashbrowns.they wasn't cooked properly. And it's supposed to have pickles on the side. I didn't receive my pickles. It was a mess. The tables still had food and plates on them and the store was empty. It was a Nad service

Came into waffle House, airline Boulevard Portsmouth the place was not clean. There was bacon on the floor where they cook all the stainless steel where they cook was nasty all they do in there is joke and and play the health department needs to be called in the floors were nasty. The tables were not wiped down good and where they cook there was food everywhere, wet and the next day and it never got cleaned up all over the place and up where they cook the eggs all up underneath they had food everywhere like they didn’t do it in days, if you come out and Portsmouth, please do not eat there. You don’t know what you’re gonna come down with

The entire staff were friendly and welcoming! We don't have Waffles House in Washington DC, we have IHOP, so I was excited to finally get to visit one. I came in for breakfast and immediately noticed the southern hospitality! The team working were all smiles, the food was prepared just the way I asked for it. The prices are beyond reasonable and the service was amazing! If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely make it my business to stop in for breakfast!

Arrived at 5:45 am and two male employees informed us we needed to return in one and one half hour because they had to clean. We returned to our car and five minutes later one employee was outside on his phone and the other employee was in his car. No other patrons were in the restaurant.
