We chose Monks to cater our wedding due to how good their food is. Their service from start to finish was very unprofessional and left us feeling very disappointed. We had issues with the catering team from the moment we signed our contract, Wendy Eversole and Sue were super inconsistent and/or were inconsiderate when responding to us. For years, Monk's was a reliable favorite, consistently delivering great food and service. Sadly, their standards have slipped lately. I've tried to excuse the occasional off day, but my recent takeout order was a letdown: missing all sides and overcooked meats. I didn't notice the issues until I got home, which made it even more frustrating and time consuming. We used to love coming here. We would drive 35 minutes every couple months just for lunch. Today we did that and were disappointed to find that their entrees now include only one side and no cornbread. For $17, we received one slice of brisket (cut in half) and one side. Do better, Monk's.

Customers can hang out, enjoy the great atmosphere, and listen to some hometown jams while savoring the smoked meats, baked beans, and coleslaw.
The brisket is insanely juicy, and the ribs are among the best in the area. The desserts are also a hit. Overall, Monk's BBQ is most likely the best BBQ in Virginia, offering a fantastic dining experience for both locals and visitors.
